that is one of the things I did not like about TIH. His strength feats did not look that powerful to me while I saw better showings in HULK imo. I hope to see a major strength feat by Thor and not just another Mjolnir slam. But I want to see that too. t:

In essence, in live action media, watching a normal sized person take on the Hulk does look kind of funny. Video games, cartoons and comics tend to not make it look as odd. But if Whedon can do it, hook it up.

You're used to seeing this in the comic books, where Thor was only slightly smaller than the Hulk and where they were both considered equals in strength (see the classic Defenders #10, for example). Do you really think a slender movie-Thor is going to be the equal in physical strength of a nine-foot tall CGI monster Hulk?

In the Avengers film, Thor may get away with throwing his mjolnir into the Hulk's face and knocking him off his feet or something, but if the Hulk ever manages to separate Thor from his hammer on the big screen, do you really think Thor is going to be able to take the Hulk down, from what you've seen of both of them so far? Thor will have to watch his back just to make sure he doesn't get stepped on by the Hulk.

Are you kidding? By this logic Superman should never fight Mongul or even Solomon Grundy in a movie. Superman shouldn't fight big monsters, period.

Thor vs Hulk is going to look great. I'm sure movie Thor is as strong as comic book Thor even if the trailer didn't show it. By your logic movie Thor can't fly and will never wear the helmet during battle. By your logic movie Thor can't open portals with his hammer. Hell, if movie Thor only relies on his hammer then Iron man can kick his ass.

You mean Hemsworth there (though Evans is also bigger than Roth).

Tim Roth is only 5 ft 7. Hemsworth is 6ft 3 and as you say, a lot bigger all round. He wouldn't look odd fighting the Hulk.

I also figure we will get a taster of Thor fighting Hulk sized foes soon enough anyway. I do not think his battles with the frost giants and Destroyer are just gonna be him throwing the hammer around.

If they're still planning on going ahead with that Hulk tv show, they're going to have to determine how scaled up or down he's gonna be in regards to other people.

In the Thor movie, what I'm looking forward to the most is the epic battle between Thor and the Destroyer, Thor fighting Loki doesn't get me excited as much.

In the Avengers movie, however it plays out, Thor should end up defeating the Hulk because no matter what the gamma rays did to Bruce Banner, he is still only a regular human being, a man. So he can only get so mad, which means he can only get so strong, and no human being no matter how mad or strong he gets, can defeat a God!

BTW, this was my major complaint with the Hulk vs. Thor animated movie, there's absolutely no way Hulk could beat Thor so easily! The female warrior in the Planet Hulk animated movie gave Hulk a better fight than Thor did?

Sooooo true, but I also wouldn't mind seeing Hulk "tie" with Thor either. The Hulk Vs. Thor was blatantly disrespectful to Thor fans everywhere.

Actually Hulk was around 7 to 8ft in the comics, he wasn't 9ft like he was in The Incredible Hulk. Chris Hemsworth is nearly 6'4 & Thor was only 6'6 in the comics, so he's really not that much shorter. C'mon Hemsworth is nowhere near "slim", comic book Thor wasn't that much bigger than him you're exaggerating.

Thor fights Frost Giants in his film, so "9 ft" tall enemies are nothing new to him.

The way I'd like to see it go down: They call in Thor as a last resort to reign in the Hulk. Thor finds him just before he tries to wreck parts of NY. Thor has the initial edge, using Warrior's Madness to gain the upper hand, only to have Hulk come back and land some good blows. After Hulk buries Thor under the rubble of a building, he escapes. The rest of the Avengers show up. Thor crawls out from under a section of concrete, his suit scratched and torn and says in a deadpan voice, "He is formidable."

Thor is 10x stronger when he goes into "warrior's madness" so I highly doubt it would be anything less than a tie.

Warrior's madness enabled Thor to go "toe to toe" with Maestro (future hulk) who is faaaar stronger than normal Hulk

Hemsworth was noticably bigger then Evans, and he towered over everyone else.... what more can you ask for...

Precisely. This is why they had to make the Hulk a CGI creation instead of finding a Lou Ferrigno stand-in. Not that I would necessarily want Thor to be totally CGI, also. But I recall in the film "The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen" where they gave Mr Hyde fantastic muscles, which were either CGI or some kind of fittings made to look like muscle (like the Thing in "The Fantastic Four"). I wouldn't be against something like this to make the movie-Thor appear more on the scale of an incredibly powerful-looking individual similar to the Hulk.

Thing is tho Tricon, this is STILL the Origin Movie. Thor even in immortal terms is still a youth.
Where Thor is TODAY size wise isn't Close to where he was back in Journey Into Mystery 83.
Thor has YEARS yet to become bigger. Right now he's still coming out of his Teens in immortal terms in the movie.

Picking a poorly drawn picture of Thor is his worst costume ever (that design is not very good and did not last very long either) does not help your case in the slightest: That rendition is not typical of the character and not a good representation at all.
