This is a Thor thread, lets talk about that crappy (looking) movie. Good for you that you hate the hugely successful and well recieved (atleast the first two are) Spider-Man movies. I hate Kick-Ass, The Harry Potter franchise, Transformers 1 and 2, Superman Returns, Batman Returns, and lots of other flicks. I hate lots of movies and think that lots of other films are overrated...so what?

There are about 6-8 really vocal posters over at BoxOfficeMojo who don't get the love for Thor either. Majority of the site is neutral to positive about it but those 6-8 crack me up with their opinions on why Thor is going to suck.

I didn't say they were good because they made money, I said that your opinion of Spider-Man 1 is in the minority and it is.

I'm still hoping that we will see other familiar places in Thor near Asgard. Especially Muspelheim!! The way that it looked from the video game,I wonder if there will be an easter egg pertaining to Beta Ray Bill,the golden apples of Iddun and the Dwarven Blacksmiths.

The Green Lanern trailer felt like the Iron Man trailer, imo.

How do you define epic? Seems it felt epic to me.

A god cast down to suffer the humiliation of living like an Earther. Meanwhile his realm is being challenged by forces with less than noble attributes. In the interim he falls in love with an Earth woman and seeks to regain his full godly qualities and save the realm.

What does epic mean to you?

I think the New Mexico setting is being used to contrast the stately appearance of Asgard. It remains to be seen how much 'on location' shooting is in New Mexico, it could just be in the first two acts.

Nothing wowed you? The hammer to the frost giants face? The lightning charged ground smash? The Destroyer?
What would've grabbed your attention, anything from the comic-con footage that was left out?

No, I'm sorry. Nothing wowed me. Like I said, my opinion may change on this movie the more that comes out, but nothing particularly wowed me in the trailer.

After watching Thor trailer, I have to say the effects and Set pieces look amazing.

But I am not impressed by Chris Hemsworth's acting, maybe making an opinion just based on the tralier is not right way to judge his acting ability, but he is not looking good in the trailer (acting wise.)

The story itself looks to be the standard superhero movie fare, I wanted something more complex. I don't know how will this movie do at box office, In my opinion, Cap America has a better chance of becoming a financial success.

It's not that standard. How many superhero movies are there where the dad strips his son(the main superhero) of his special powers? And sends him on his way to earth as punishment and so he goe's on a internal self-discovery journey?

To say the truth,as much I disliked that (argh!) GL trailer,I still think it will do better than cap for the same reasons I've stated before.
