The SUit case suit didn't have alot of power, it was just an on the go suit.

I get the Robo Cop comment, but in general Iron Mans suit is about 1000 times more fluid and the use of CGI placed it into a whole new category of realism.

Oh well I was just expecting Whiplash to be sent flying when he was punched by Iron Man...suitcase suit or not.

Iron Man's suit didn't really remind me of Robocop, when I first saw it I was like "damn" they NAILED it.

I thought it very ...ODD that WHiplash took getting hit by a car so very well.

Also people mention the SPiderman Dock Ock fights as Glorious....but I never understood How Dock Ock took SPidermans punches so well... he is afterall just human no super streagth..... not like GG so how was he never KO'd by taking hits to jaw?????

Whiplash and Doc ock both came off as 'more then human'

I thought it was weird that the car didn't crush his legs when it pinned him to the wall. But if you look closely when the cops are dragging him away the exoskeleton he's wearing extends down over his legs.

As far as the other thing, neither guy should have been able to take a full on swing from Spidey or IM, but presumably could if the hero was pulling his punches. And at least in the comics Spidey has hit guys but not put them down because he was too careful and didn't hit them hard enough.

/fanwank mode off

Unquestionable. But you got a sense of the weight of the hardware--nimble as it was. This lent itself to giving the viewer a reference subconsciously if you will for the (possible) strength of the hardware/suit.

Sort of like seeing a small commercial forklift or back hoe in operation. Though diminutive, you understand and respect its power or capabilites. You hear it and see it move and your mind registers that this is a heavy duty piece of machinery not to be taken lightly.

I guess I never noticed Doc Ock taking Spidey's punches because I don't look at Spidey as a "heavy hitter". I mean I know he has super strength but it's just not as synonymous with him as it is with "Iron Man".

They both were odd, but Whiplash taking IM's punches without flying was far more absurd than Doc Ock taking Spidey's blows.

The final scene in the official trailer put my worry to rest that Thor was going to be underpowered. He is obviously not really a god, just a being that was thought to be one my ancient man. I hope they don't overplay that notion though, and play up his "godlike" power.

If he sets off a planet destroying impact with Mjolnir then thats beyond what I was expecting by quite a bit lol.

I do think we need to understand that many of the scenes we see he is "powerless", so I dont think its cause for worry.

They seem to be going with the angle that much of the Asgardian powers come from their "technology". When Thor is stripped of his power his hammer and armor is taken. I wonder how much "inherent super-strength" he will have honestly. He obviously has GREAT power, but its yet to be determined how truly strong he will be.

The way they are doing the "technological" paradigm and trying to make Thor fit with the main marvel movie universe, I wonder if his powers aren't based mostly on his equipment as well?

What do you guys think?

I like the fact Thor explains Magic is part of their science, a science we mortals don't understand yet.
You'd have to figure each Asgardian would have this control that's 2nd nature over that science that we don't use.
Thor explains alittle about it to Jane Foster about this power that flows through everything and what our ancestors called the World Ash Yggdrasil is actually a life energy.
Tho I'm hoping to some extent they explain how the Asgardian's weapons and Armour tap that energy.

I would be stunned if Marvel went in that direction and I can't see it happening. I understand your point though.

I'm thinking the wrecking crew would be interesting villains for the sequel. Showing what happens when you give humans asguardian technolagy sounds legit.

Yeah from the stand point of us getting Asgardian powers that could be an interesting subplot.

spider-man pulls his punches. this has been established in comics dozens of times, there is even an entry for this in the officical marvel handbook.

I know I was just saying that Spidey's not nearly as strong as Iron Man

I like this idea, but in addition to advanced tech I hope that Asgardians also have their super strength & durability. I also want to see Loki use his magic without the use of technology.

Kevin Feige said that this version of Thor is ABSOLUTELY based on Marvel's normal "616" universe. So I doubt he will depend on his eqipment for power (besides Mjolnir)

Asgardian magic, actually. ;)

The Wrecking Crew would be great minionish characters. Like Bane in Batman & Robin, only, y'know, it'd make sense for the Wrecking Crew 'cause that's actually the kind of characters they are.

I agree. I'd love to see the Crew but they aren't exactly masterminds. Hell, I wouldn't complain if they were villains for The Avengers to take out since I can't really see any Thor villain besides Loki using them. Enchantress already has her Executioner.

Seeing Thor defeating all four of them would be fairly exciting. I could see either them appearing as either Amora's or Loki's flunkies in Thor 2. I would like to see Surtur or The Midgard Serpent as the final villain of the sequel.

Yea, I hope so too. I'm okay with them alluding to the whole "magic/technology" thing but I hope they leave it a mystery in large part. The audience should get the impression that they are really gods, even if its not the case.

I wasn't so much suggesting they will make it equipment based as much as noticing its not clear in the trailer. Combine that with the "Magic is Technology" thing and it made me wonder.

I'm super pumped for this movie. I had a major geekgasm when Mjolnir appeared in Iron Man II. :shock My friends and I went nuts and everyone looked at us like we were.

Someone can help me to know what are all three musics played in Thor's trailer?

Much appreciated. Early thanks.

Marvelous, I give it a 10/10
I expected a nicer personality for Thor

Met some of my cousins yesterday and They got totally psyched about this movie after seeing the trailer.
