Quentin Beck is one of the most famous names in the film industry. He becomes jealous of the attention Spider-Man recieves and dons his own costumed persona, Mysterio. He prevents several robberies and other criminal activities with great ease and publicly declares himself superior to Spidey. Spidey later discovers that Beck has been staging the robberies and exposes him as a fraud. Disgraced, Beck gains revenge by impersonating Spidey and commits various crimes. This turns the public against Spider-Man who now has to clear his name.

And Bruce Campebell for Mysterio..

I suggest not doing Mac Gargan/Scorpion in the first place. ;)

And with Sam's version of JJJ, it really wouldn't make much sense having this version of JJJ involve or responsible, in any form or fashion with MG/Scorpion.
LOL. I agree. This comic relief JJJ would never participate in a project to create a Scorpion man to destroy Spiderman. Give me a break.

I never thought Id like to see mysterio, but that idea with him staging his own crimes and then framing spidey sounds like itd make a good movie. I also like the Scorpion/shocker idea... youve got a villain with superhuman abilities and one that utilizes weaponry. Good balance

if not Scorpion, then I'd like to see Shocker in Rhino in SM5. I always saw them as a great "double-trouble" team, since the 90's series.

I think we need Spidey to really PO JJJ before we'll see Scorpion. If they could somehow tie in JJ thinking Spider-Man caused MJ to leave John at the alter, that might do it. Still, that was way back in Spider-Man 2, if JJ were to get revenge, it would have been in Spidey 3. Maybe Jonah's wife could be accidentally killed as Spider-Man fights a bad guy.

It could easily be done in the scope of one movie. Its a shame really, they missed an oppurtunity when Spidey was in the Black Suite to do something that would make JJJ forever hate him. But i'm sure they could come up with something. It could even be an innocent dying not connected to JJJ but he feels he needs to rid the city of Spidey so create's The Scorpion.

Spidey could be hated and feared by the city once more, like he was in SM1 and 2. JJ wants to give the city a true hero. then comes Scorpion, but he goes berserk.

Exactly, and it would be JJJ pleading with Spiderman to stop The Scorpion, could make for a great scene. Rhino would be awesome to see too.

The more I think about it... and as awesome as it seems... I can see the next Batman & Robin movie brewing.

Yeah, Mysterio tends to do that for me.

Because, in the end, it would be a Movie with Special Effects where the main villain utilizes Special Effects from Movies.

It's cheesy, and takes you out of the movie. I would rather have my disbelief suspended with incredible special effects on a "real" villain who's doing "real" things. It worked in the comics, but leave it out of the movies.

Does anybody have any ideas for a good spider-man sequel can be pulled off without the villain having a personal connection to Peter?

It can be done. The Dark Knight pulled it off with the Joker.

That's because the Joker's identity is never known.

Most of the good Spider-Man villains have some kind of connection to Peter, to heighten the drama. Stan Lee's idea. That's why Steve Ditko left Marvel, I think. The Green Goblin being Norman Osborn.

I think you should have at least one villain connected to Peter, and other side villains just there to f*** s*** up.

My hope for Spider-Man 4: Lizard (connection), Kraven (no connection), introduce Vulture (somewhat connection, he's a fellow professor working with Curtis Conners, but he doesn't really know Peter.)

realistically, we will probably end up seeing both the lizard and mysterio in the new movie, simply because we have already seen hints of them through out the others....although I would much rather see carnage. If they did it right.

*cough cough* Calypso *cough cough*

 When was Mysterio hinted???

Anyway, no on Calypso... at least for Spider-Man 4. Really because I don't think Lizard will be in Spider-Man 4, unless in a cliffhanger leading to Spider-Man 5.... that's provided the doing 4&5 back-to-back. With that said, that means the same for Kraven, which in turns means no for Calypso. ;)

For some reason, I also think Lizard won't be in Spiderman 4.

I didn't see the post till another pointed it out...yeah, but when was Mysterio hinted at?

No to Calypso. Sam likes the old school villains. If he had to be forced to include a major "new" villain like Venom, he wont go along with a very minor "new" villain like Calypso.

As for a bad guy having zero connection to Peter, I would love it. I'm skeptical of it happening but I would like it.

actually, the only villain I see having connections with Peter is the Lizard.
if any other have a connection, that's because the writer made it, or Sam pulled it off in the last minute.

Have Dr.Connors in class talking about regrowing lost limbs from lizard DNA,until a student interupts him by asking him how he lost his arm. Then show Dr.Connors have a flashback.

Flashback:Twenty years ago in the middle east,Dr.Connors was in the military,he was a member on a special forces team. There were six of them:
1.Kurt Connors:Medic
2.Max Dillon aka Electro:Captain(Why he has the star symbol on his costume)
3.Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven
4.Adrian Toomes aka Vulture:Pilot
5.Alex O'Hirn aka Rhino
6.Mac Gargan aka Scorpion

They called there group "The Sinister Six".

One day in a city somewhere in the middle east the six soldiers take heavy fire. You get to see them in action, get to see there personalities, etc. Then after they defeat the enemy Adrian Toomes flies them out of there.

On the way back to base the team starts talking about what there gonna do when they get back home since that was there last mission, and Kurt Connors has been listening to these stories for years and it makes him sick.

Connors knows that his teammates love hurting people and if they go back home that they will find subjects to hurt.

So as the five are talking,Kurt straps on a parachute, grabs a grenade off of his vest and pulls the pin.The five get quiet quick and turns to look at Connors.

They see him toss the grenade behind him as he jumps out of the chopper. As Connors is freefalling the chopper explodes and a piece of debri cuts one of Connor's arm off.Connors still has another arm to pull the rip cord to make him land safely.

Then the flashback ends and you see Dr.Connors tell the student that he lost his arm in the war.

As the bell rings and Connor's class is dismiss,Connors notices a man sitting in one of his student's desk. The man gets up and introduces himself. His name is Alistaire Smythe.

He tells Connor's that he has a better way for Connor's to have his arm back, robotics. He tells Connors that he can give him an arm that would be better than the one he lost.

When Connor's tells him that he is not interested Alistaire Smythe tells Connors that his fellow teammates are.

Connors in shock says my teammates died Mr.Smythe.Smythe tells Connors that twenty years ago robotics was so primitive,it was just good enough to keep them barely breathing and the government didn't want to lose these guys, there to valuable to them.

Connors says:How could they of survived that explosion?Smythe tells them that they didn't walk away from it with just a few scratches, most of them lost both arms, legs, and most of their torso, and some lost part of their heads.

Smythe tells Connors that with his education in robotics and the government's fund that Connor's friends will be up and adam in no time.

Smythe gives Connors his card and tells him to call him if he changes his mind.

In a military building somewhere you see the five members of Connor's old team laying in hospital beds.Smythe walks into the room and tells his assistants to prep them.

Smythe gives the five guys robotic bodies. And when the five guys wake up,they seek revenge on the person who betrayed them,Connors...

During the last part of movie when spidey is fighting the five while trying to protect Connors and his family,Electro blast Connors with a bolt of electricity. The electricity makes the lizard DNA that is in Connors body to mutate.

And the Lizard is born. Now spidey is fighting six villains,"The Sinister Six".But the Lizard is also fighting the other five villains too at times.

In the aftermath of the battle, only Kraven survives and Lizard survives. The Lizard escapes into the sewers and Kraven hunts his old teammate down.SM5 would be Kraven's Last Hunt...
