Thread of the Tomb Raider

That's exactly how it feels. "The story was bad...what DLC can we make to try and improve it?" It's really obvious that it was a quick and easy attempt to fix, too, as there are no cut scenes, platforming or any real gameplay. The entirety of the DLC's story is told through notes you find. It's an obvious band-aid that doesn't really fix things but it does give a bit more context. It's neat seeing the story unfold and there's a couple fun nods to previous games. I think it's worth a play knowing that there isn't much substance to it.

This is (hopefully you consider) a spoiler-free synopses:

Lara's uncle is threatening to take Croft Manor away from her. She decides to explore a few areas of the Manor to find something that will keep that from happening. While doing so, you find notes that explore her childhood and give some back story to the main game.

The story was awful, but I actually think I enjoyed the gameplay more than UC4

Well I'm curious now, because wasn't the Manor stuff added just recently as DLC, even on the X-Box version? It would seem that they added it in as an after thought because the original version released last year didn't fully tell the story.

Pretty sure it was mostly added as a VR thing more than anything

this is only a rumor for now which is why they have listed as such.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider may be the name of the next Tomb Raider game.
The name first appeared in a Reddit post, in which a user claimed to have spotted someone working on a presentation for “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” on their laptop on a train in Montreal, Quebec.
Kotaku got in touch with its own sources, who reportedly verified the name, and say that while the Tomb Raider series is normally developed by Crystal Dynamics, Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal is making Lara Croft’s next game.
According to the Reddit user who took the photo, the page of the presentation concerned the games visuals. Other than that, he couldn’t get a better look.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider. They are really dedicated to this "the Tomb Raider" stuff.

Lara will have her name legally changed to "The Tomb Raider."

At this point, I fully expecting an eventual sequel titled "Fall of the Tomb Raider"

Oh what a shame. I wonder what she will do next.

I sent her a tweet just a few weeks ago thanking her for her work on rise of the tomb raider and she said thanks but also deferred it a bit to some other people. At the time I thought she was just being nice. She probably was but was already planning her exit

So... When will we see it?

[FONT=&quot]With Square Enix's Tomb Raider reboot series being such a success it's no surprise that the series has been labeled a "trilogy " and will eventually see a sequel to both Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Last year, someone on a subway in Montreal, Canada spotted a Square Enix the person next to them hard at work on a presentation for the third game, titled 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider.' It was thought that we would be seeing more on the game during E3 this summer, but it looks like that won't be happening.
The official Tomb Raider fansite, Turning Point (WCCF), shared a quote from Tomb Raider's Senior Community Manager, Meagan Marie, that suggested the third Tomb Raider game would be getting an announcement later on in the year.
"This will be a quiet E3 for Lara, but we’re looking forward to catching up on her new adventure later this year."
If Tomb Raider skips E3 2017 the next event that could see a reveal would be Gamescom 2017 in late August.

Lara Croft set to raid the pyramids?

Possible logos and key artworks for the next Tomb Raider game, rumored to be titled Shadow of the Tomb Raider, have leaked via the website of Takeoff Creative, an entertainment marketing company that has worked with Tomb Raider publisher Square Enix in the past.

The website posted (now removed) the above logos and key artworks for the unannounced Tomb Raider game. It’s worth noting that the artwork in the upper right, under the “Logos” section, is actually reused from Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The key artworks appear to show pyramids, a Lara Croft with braided hair, and weapons such as spears, machetes, and swords.
Thanks, NeoGAF.

Oh gosh everyone has gone Egypt crazy all of a sudden

Yay this makes me so happy! More Lara all the time

I'm really glad that Tomb Raider looks like it's back to stay, with regular, hopefully high quality games. That reboot project worked so well.

Just started the first reboot game about a month ago and loving it so far. I am only a couple of hours into it as I have quite a few games I am playing at the moment. But I love the gameplay in the Definitive Edition and intend to get 'Rise' once I complete the first.

The game is a good basis for the film but they'll have to make Lara a more interesting character and give her some more personality. Second time I played it I noticed she was kinda boring.

I guess it's probably time to just rename this as a catch-all Tomb Raider thread
