Thundercats Movie Casting....

You guys seem way to optimistic about this film. I loved TC back in the day but doesn't it seem a little odd that, a more contemporary animated show hasn't been done since then? I mean jumping from the original show to a live action movie 2 decades later has me in a state of panic. Lets be honest, as great as it was acccording to our memories and nostalgia, TC was hardly intelligent and somewhat very basic....I have serious dobts and concerns about this and I'd hate to see such a staple point of my childhood go down the crapper.

I think at worst it will be funny in a good way and at the best a geekasm for all the Thundercat fans.

Hmmm. Well This movie has got to be done in animation, i'd prefer an actual 2d over 3d anime version,(because lets face it, the original was basically anime anyhow) But if it had to be live action, Panthro has to be black. None of this Vin and the Rock stuff, Panthro was always and will always be a black man.Cat. Man-cat. Paul walker cannot act, so maybe...eric bana might be good.

Who will be the focus audience? 30-somethings that watched the cartoon as kids (end up dark like batman)? Or, the current generation of kids (tweens) in hopes to market toys? Or, High School/College Students looking for an action flick? Each one would be a clearly different movie.

I fail to see how this movie would be pulled of sucessfully. I junst don't see it. I hope hollywood aren't getting any stupid ideas (which is more than likely), Just because transformers looks set to impress that TC will follow suit.

WB animation is remaking the Thundercats as an animated TV series. The animation style is whimsical, Americanized-anime, along the lines of Teen Titans.

The setting is modern-day Earth, in a major city (possibly LA)
The Thundercats are all teenagers. Their leader is Snarf (!) who is now a mystic with a "third" eye. Each of the Thundercats has a weapon with an "Eye of Thunderra" and transformative powers (not just Lion-O)

When they aren't fighting evil, the Thundercats play together as a rock band. That's not a typo, or a joke. They are rockin' cats in their present form.
Mum-Ra now has wings.
