Carradine and Macdowell are great choices man, good job.

You would need to update the face make-up for sure...but other movies have featured "animal-humans" so it would not be hard.

Would you accept Ron Perlman as Panthro?

why would you want to do that when he looks so much like Monkian?

Just throwing ideas out there. Besides, with prosthetic makeup, Perlman can be made to look like a lot of different things.

David Hyde Pierce as the voice of Vultureman.

Lion-O - A boy in a man's body, but with the responsibility of saving his entire race. Buff him up, and cast EMILE HIRSCH

Panthro - Already physically imposing, but given 2 months of martial arts training, DWAYNE 'THE ROCK' JOHNSON could convey the genuine goodness, brutal ferocity, and grouchiness of the strongest ThunderCat

Cheetara - Sleek, sexy, compassionate, and fierce. Again, exercise and fight training with a bo-staff, and EVA LONGORIA could shoot her scenes between seasons of Desperate Housewives.

Tygra - Bookish, Intelligent, Shy, yet a stealthy warrior. The control and speed of the bullwhip as his weapons suits him. AARON ECKHART could do it.

Queen Willa - Love interest to Lion-O. She demands respect as queen of the Amazons, and always wants to do the right thing, but the safety of her people comes first above all else. If she doesn't phone it in, get SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR.

Jaga - The toughest of all to cast. Remind him of Alec Guinness in Star Wars, and all of the money Nicholson and Keanu Reeve made off of Batman 89 and the Matrix sequels in ticket percentage and merchandising, and you could get HARRISON FORD to play the kindly father figure who's always about righteousness and guides Lion-O through wearing a heavy crown.

Villain recommendations later...

Just a few things...

Emil Hisch is still way to young to pull off Lion-O.

Eva longoria is a terrible choice and I really find her more annoying than anything. Her AND Terri Hatcher..ugh!

Harrison Ford as Jaga? I honestly cant see it..and not cuz of any pretentious "oh he'd never do it" attitude..it's just bad casting.

But I am looking forward to hearing your villain picks....

Oh and just so you know I'm not all negative...

although I hate SMG I think her as Willa would be good. Or maybe Selma Blair?

The Rock as Panthro could be kinda neat. Alot better than Vin Diesal.

Eckheart as Tygra is a great choice too. He certainly looks the part.

In terms of physical stature, Daniel Cudmore (Colossus from X-Men) has the stature one would associate with Lion-O.

Here goes mine:

Lion-O: Daniel Cudmore or Brandon Routh
Panthro: Vin Diesel
Cheetara: Uma Thurman or Jessica Biel
Tygra: Eric Bana or Thomas Jane
Jaga: Peter O'Toole

Mum-Ra: Ron Pearlman or Clancy Brown

Sorry. Double post!!

This is a topic that has received numerous threads in the past, but they are all deserved. I wish they would make this movie, I think it would be great.

However, I once heard or read (not really sure anymore), that a movie such as Thundercats would never be made because it would lack the human connection/element that the audience could identify with. Nonetheless, I want this movie made.

Years ago I was bored and casted my version of a Thundertcats movie (just the Thundercats though). My choices are based on wanting a very diverse cast of actors to portray the variety of cats in the Thundercats universe.

They had talked about making a Thundercats movie about two years ago and wanting to make it a trilogy. The second movie could feature Lynx-o, Pumyra and Ben-gali.

Anyway, here's my cast:

Very cool set up, got some great choices in there as well

David Boreanaz as Tigra - a miles better pick for him than the thousands of superhero roles he's been mentioned for.

Charlize Theron as Cheetara

Ving Rhames as Panthro

Since we're discussing a serious Thundercats adaptation/remake here, I would like to ask you all some questions:

1) Should this be some kind of vague sequel that picks up where the 1980s series left off, or should it start the history over from scratch, chronicling Thundera's destruction, crashing on 3rd Earth, and just showing their adventures in a new manner?

2) Are there characters from the old series that should absolutely not return for the new one?

3) In a variation question 2, should Snarf return?

4) What should be Mumm-Ra's origin?

5) How should we/they improve upon the Mutants of Plundarr [Slythe/Slithe, Monkian, Jackalman, Vultureman]? I think we can all agree here that the Mutants need to be given a more lethal edge to them so that they can pass for serious villains; they were, after all, supposed to be the ancient enemies of the Thundercats, but were often shown to be incompetent goofballs, as was the case with many villains of the time.

6) Should they recycle the child-trapped-in-man's body plot device that befell Lion-O in the first series (and won him the scorn of certain fans on certain web sites) or should he already be an adult at the start of the story?

7) How should the personal histories of the various Thundercats be told?

8) What limits should be set on the Sword of Omens?

9) What plotlines from the old show should be left dead & buried? [I nominate the New Thundera storyline]

Well, that's all for now off the top of my head.
