In the SHH/CS interview, Tim Story, mentioned that he is still growing as a filmmaker. I strongly agree! You can see that he has made some improvements in his direction. His flaw right now is that he needs to learn how to focus on the right things. Both Johnny and the Silver Surfer had great sub-plots.

In the first movie, Johnny, is the hot-head and that didn't bother him. In this movie he's the screw-up...sort of. And, that really seemed to affect him. Then, at the end he got his s--t together and basically saved the day. If Story would have focused more on that the movie could have been slighty better.

As for the Silver Surfer. . .he needed ALOT more development. Perhaps a flashback would have been nice. I don't know...just a suggestion.

Hopefully that Silver Surfer spin-off will be green-lighted, unless it already has been.

If this movie is a hit we'll get a Silver Surfer movie. We got an Elektra movie...didn't we?

Comparing Daredevil = Elektra to FF2 = Silver Surfer is kind of scary.

too bad the writers and producers are ****. and whoever cast Alba and Julian.

Johnny's character developement was my favourite part of this movie. I wish there'd been a little more depth all round but it was still much better than the first in terms of the Four characters being so one dimensional.

I hope we do get a Silver Surfer movie. He's interesting enough, to me, to be worthy of his own film. I don't read the comic books so I feel like there's a lot I still should know about the character.

If they don't make a Surfer movie he'll definitly be in the third installment.

With the way Marvel caters their "beloved" franchises to the general public, I actually doubt he would be in the hypothetical third FF movie.

I think the ending set it up.

I think the end more set up the spin-off than him in a sequel.

You have to respect the man for saying that. He's never come off as an arrogant individual.

I respect him for trying his best. There's filmmakers who want to make a "cool" movie. coughbrettratnercough. Tim Story is atleast trying to make a great movie. He hasn't been successful but you can tell that he's trying.

Gotta agree with the topic post, Story's definitely improving.

Btw, webhead, your avvy is ****in hilarious :o:up:

I liked Fantastic Four 2. It's not Batman Begins, but it also does a lot more comic-booky stuff, which is cool too.

I prefer to have Superman and Batman more "rooted" but Tim Story is making "comic booky" movies and he's doing a darn good job with what he has to work with.

I think his weakness is with villains. He does villains from the darkside of comedy instead of bringing out a character that is purely evil. These guys are worthy antagonists, but they are not the stars... there's no room to FOCUS on the antagonists... they're just part of the story, it seems...

I would want the Surfer movie to be a prequel but it does leave it open.
I can see the Surfer film being a prequel, but I can see the Surfer returning in one of the future FF films.
I like how Story didn't kill off the villians like in other Superhero films.

I AGREE, TIM HAS COME FAR AND SO HAS THE CAST, I THINK HE DID A GREAT JOB ON FF2!!! HE'S IMPROVING HIS CRAFT AND DOING HIS BEST AND THAT'S ALL THAT CAN BE ASKED OF ANYONE!!! I ALSO AGREE THAT THE END SEEMS TO SET UP AN SS SPIN OFF WITH GALACTUS MORE THAN THEM RETURNING FOR FF3, BUT I GUESS IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW THIS ONE DOES!!! I'M NOT WORRIED THOUGH, I THOUGHT THIS ONE WAS GREAT, AND I THINK IT'LL DO WELL!!!:D:up:

Fox announced two days ago that Silver Surfer is being scripted by Michael Straczynsky.
FF3 will move on to new territory most likely.

For a director as young as he is, doing a film so much grander than the first one, I'd say he's come a long way. He's definitely stepped up.

I'm against spinoffs... hated the idea of Elektra, as an X-Men fan, I hate the idea of Wolverine, Magneto, and that X-Kids spinoff (along with all the other rumored Emma Frost, Mystique, Storm spinoffs, etc...)

But Silver Surfer is one spinoff that I actually think would be a -good- idea.

True, but I'm just saying that it could go either way.
