What I gather from the trailers is Peter has really done it this time. Harry has been kinda putting off trying to kill Pete, until Peter starts hurting MJ emotionally and physically. That is Harry's motivation to do something about it.

So what does he do, he takes the serum and steps into the gas chamber like dear old dad. Why? He can't take on Spidey as regular old Harry, so he has a little talk with his dad, and does the deed, meaning going thru with taking the serum and all.

This is what I'm thinking is going to happen.

Harry wants MJ to be happy, that is why Harry hasn't made that next move to hurt Pete, because he would be hurting MJ in return. Until Peter starts throwing MJ to the floor.

i dont think it would be less than a year, the characters look more grown up and it makes more sense if it takes place like 2 years or 3 years after spidey2.

Nobody waits that long to avenge the death of a loved one. Especially when you see/hear about that person on a regular basis.

harry waited two or three years to kill peter because at the end of spidey2 harry said, "but petes by best friend", harry doesnt want to kill him, but he hast to, hes been avoiding peter alot, peter and harry have not been nice to eachother that much, peter is trying to make harry be friends again but harry refuses not to and keeps being mean, in spidey3 harry finally tries to kill peter.

I know that, but he's waiting for the right time to do it. Yeah he doesn't want to kill Pete at first, but what pushes him to the edge is when MJ starts telling Harry that Pete is not the same person, Peter is physically and emotionally hurting MJ. When that happens, Harry takes that next step to get rid of Pete/Spidey once and for all.

Harry wants too because Pete supposedly killed his father. However, what pushes him to the edge is his love for MJ, and when Pete starts throwing MJ to the ground, Harry goes after Pete.

Harry - "You knew this was coming Pete!"

i think in that time harry has been taking the goblin gas and thats the reason he dosent have the same reaction norman had when he first took in the trailer.

he has to know he wont stand a chance if he just takes the gas and then goes after pete, my guess is he has training himself and modifying the weapons and suit to fit his personality

and from the looks of harry at the spidey day, i have feeling harrys been waiting to pick his spot and what better time to do it

I think you got it Molp, however, it's been almost 2 years and not 6 months.

I agree but i think Harry attacks Peter right as hes engaging to M.J. In the trailer you see Peter proposing and in a later shot you see Harry dragging Peter away in the same setting and Peter is wearing the same suit.

If Peter is gonna ask MJ to marry him,I wouldn't think he would wait 2-3 years to do it.The timeline is probably 6 months where Harry's father's anniversary of is death arrives which sets Harry off.

I'd say this takes place a mere month, at the most, after SM2.

If John Jameson brings back the symbiote/Promethium X to Earth, and he leaves right after SM2, then he would most likely only be gone a week.

Maybe they aren't using that storyline though...

if the movie does indeed pick up 2 or 3 years after spidey 2, wouldn't it be kinda awkward for harry and pete, i mean don't you think they would have seen each other in between those years? and wouldn't have harry just already well tried to get revenge? i'd say a month or two happens in between spidey 2 and spidey 3. doesn't it make more sense?

norman tells harry in the mirror to use the srum to get strong, and the new glider and new weapons could have been made by norman even if never uesed them, or made by oscorp, im not sure though.

Exactly...it has to be a year tops...my guess is a few months...maybe 6. It didn't take Norman long to make all the adjustments and a new costume. If you have tons of time, money, and hate on your hands like Harry does...you can get things done fast.

How would Harry and Peter deal with eachother after Harry knows that Peter is Spider-Man? It's been 3 years so they had to have run into eachother.

Well, NY is a big place...

But 3 years does seem too long. The giveaway for me is Pete's living space: it still looks like he's in that crummy apartment - I can't imagine he'd be there after 3 years no matter how hard up on $$ he is. If he didn't find something better I have a feeling he'd have gotten kicked out by then anyways.

I think 8-14 months.

The gas could have been refinded and improved by Norman or Harry before he took it, causing it to be more stable.

Hmmm.
Well, maybe Harry fakes it . he pretends that he understands, what happened back then, and that it's not Pete's fault? In the mean time, he's secretly perfecing his father's work and the formula, glider, etc . If it were by that theory, then I'd say 1 or 2 years (also because of the Spidey celebration-thingy-day; they didn't like him that much back in SM-2).
Or maybe the next day after Harry find the glider and stuff, i don't knowt: ...

They have been on and off since SM1...at the end of highschool. MJ loves Peter and Peter loves MJ. She left her wedding for Peter...that to me is a big sign of commitment. People don't have to wait 3 years to get engaged...this is an engagement after all...not a wedding. Peter will ask MJ to marry him...that doesn't mean the wedding will be the very next day. My guess is they don't even have a ceremony in this one. If they do, it will be towards the end of the film. 3 years is way to long...
