Kevin smith is saying people hes spoken to love the movie

Someone on Twitter named Jenn Murphy who may or may not have seen MOS said the movie is terrible and fails the Bechdel Test (even thought ALL superhero movies fail this test).

I think iron man 3 had a scene with pepper and maya just talking about stuff other than men. At least for a little bit

Jenny Murphy is a flipping **** that is just being a hateful feminist. Besides what serious credit does she have as a movie reviewer?

Enough about her.

First off let me start off by saying I hope I am not violating any rules by posting this. If I am... I understand if this article needs to be deleted and will happily do so myself or be fine with it being taken off by administrators. Also, I know there will be the skeptics... But I can honestly say (after lobbying hard with some "Higher Ups" I work for) I was able to see an advanced screening of MAN OF STEEL last night. I write at a local blog/newspaper and work in the entertainment section and can't wait to review the film after the embargo is lifted. Until then I thought it only fair I share my thoughts about the film to those as excited as I was to see it. So let's begin....
• I think the one word I would use to describe this film (as cliche and overly used as it is) would be EPIC. The scope of this is unlike anything we have seen in a CBM. The amount of destruction in this movie is jaw-dropping.

• Those worried about action... Should not be. That is all I'll say about that.

• As far as the story goes I would say this is one of the most focused stories I've seen in some time. The writers/filmmaker knew exactly the story they wanted to tell... and unapologetically told it. This could be viewed as a negative by many due to certain characters not being fully fleshed out, although I LOVED it. Very refreshing to not have a convoluted plot.

• Zod is now the 2nd best villain in CBM history (No one can beat ledger's performance in my eyes). Michael Shannon is nothing short of sensational.

• Cavill... Is... SUPERMAN. Best interpretation we've seen... Including the animated versions. I was blown away at how this man encompassed everything we've ever loved about superman. You could tell how into this role he was. I know many were worried when the didn't show a lot of dialogue in the trailers... But you will be glad they didn't.... On that note...

• THEY HAVE SHOWN NOTHING IN THE TRAILERS. Literally all the best moments have not been shown.

• The CGI is some of (if not THE) best I've ever seen. Zack Snyder has such a way with special effects and even though it's so over the top... You believe you're actually witnessing these things occur... Which is a huge testament to the world they have created.

• Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled... There are in fact references to the DCU (however minor they may be)

NOW FOR MY NEGATIVES (though this is nitpicking)

• Amy Adams didn't fully sell me on Lois. Though it's not necessarily her fault. She surprisingly didn't have a ton of screen time. Hopefully she will be more developed in the sequel.

•....... Well... I guess that was my only negative.

I will be writing a full review as soon as I am able and dive into the million things I loved about this movie. Is it the greatest CMB of all time? If it's not... It's pretty damn close. Snyder should be embraced by fanboys across the globe when this hits. I know I can't wait to see it again and again.

Enough about her.

This is really awesome but... who wrote it? Where did it come from?

Hope its true, sounds great! Seems pretty consistent with what we've heard from other early spoiler-freeish reviews.

Eh, yeah you might be right, although I'm almost positive Tony, Aldrich or the Mandarin were mentioned somewhere in there. Regardless, it was a REALLY brief scene. My biggest complaint with IM3 was that I wanted more Rebecca Hall. She was wasted in fairly worthless role.

I'm sorry, but I am a huge fan of STID and the fact that she hated on it, calling it a bland film is enough for me to think she's a bit of a film snob. I have seen every Star Trek film, and STID had a great balance of story and action for my taste. I was quite entertained, and it is easily my favorite summer movie so far... until I see MOS most likely ;)

I did get a private message that MOS will be getting a fantastic review from The Atlantic referencing it as being at the top of the list for superhero film genre. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks. Regardless of reviews, I just hope I love it. Everything is pointing to me enjoying it thus far.

REALLY hope this movie gets good reviews, man. Call it validation or whatnot, but if the reviews are mostly positive it's just going to be another way to boost word of mouth. And in turn, will help boost its box office. I can say that I'm gonna check rottentomatoes every five minutes when reviews start rolling in

It would be a travesty if Superman Returns gets better reviews due to the Donner nostalgia  I really hope MOS ends up above 80%. Most of all I hope I love it :D

Did you see the post that said she is a programmer for the Los Angeles Film Festival?

She is vegan, an open feminist, and into very independent non studio films. Did MOS ever have a chance with her? ;)

I think your last point there is the most important one. I have a few friends who pretty much write off ANY movie unless it's some pretentious art house film featuring actors looking like they just got run over by a car, sitting around staring out windows and barely talking. If she's anything like that, then of course she's going to hate MOS.

Maybe there is a scene in MOS of Clark using heat vision on some fresh meat from the farm and the film lost her there.

That is a possibility, I never thought I'd read a post such as her detesting STID for example. I never thought anyone could outright hate that film
