I REALLY wish another picture would come out so that he will final shut up about "this is CLEARLY this or this is CLEARLY that". In other words, he's basically saying "Nu uh I'm right and you're wrong". Just stop it already! Everything you are saying is CLEARLY speculation. Why can't you just say "It could possibly be this or could possibly be that". That way it shows that you are not 100% positive of what you are spouting. The only ones that know for sure how the suit looks are the ones that are working on this movie (or insiders) and that's it. So don't pretend like you are in the know, on how the suit looks. We only know what we have been given, and nothing more!

I mean......they just "conveniently" had a guy there with a black blanket to cover Henry up..........

I still can't tell if the trunks are there or not.

also......the blue is a bit darker than I would like ( but not by much, though ).

however, colors can always be corrected in post production......

There is gold there. I do not see any sort of trunks of any colour. Blast the guy taking the picture needs to hide. That's why they are blocking him. They can see him with the camera.

I'm not sure if that's even gold around the waist. It LOOKS like it...but it could very well just be light reflecting off the suit

Agree with this. I'm really curious about the belt design. It really just looks like two gold lines "=" with blue in the middle. I have no idea if that will work, but I really can't imagine Snyder putting something on screen that wasn't visually appealing.

In regards to the picture posted earlier in this thread, I love the way the cape hangs on Cavill and am not fussed at all by the lack of the S symbol on it. It looks very clean and regal. The blue part of his costume, however, is too dark for me. In the pictures it almost comes off as being a shade of black. I hope it brightens after it's gone through post-production. Finally, I'm glad to see that Cavill's hair is a bit shorter in the set photos. I was one of the people who didn't care for his hair on the promo pic.

Maybe it's my monitor that's off. Because people keep saying that, but it doesn't look black at all to me. It's dark, sure, but a very deep blue color nonetheless.

It's nice to see that some people will never be happy with Superman's costume unless it looks exactly like Reeves.

The Superman Returns costume looked just fine even with the fruitroll-up cape and so far this one looks just fine too. I like the darker blue.

I prefer the 1978 movie costume, but I also like the dark blue on this one. What I don't like is the apparent length of the cape. It reaches all the way to the deck. I think you should be able to see his feet and ankles from behind. His cape shouldn't drag across the deck while he's walking around. Maybe it'll look different on film. Right now, it looks cumbersome. I like the costume, but I'd like it more if the cape was shorter.

And you're exactly right about the SR cape. Every time I see it, I feel like I'm looking at a guy with a giant cherry fruit roll-up on his back!

I dont think it looks black at all to me too. Looks like the bad Superman blue from SIII and a bright red cape, S and boots.

Yes, really! I might be wrong about the one in the arm but the rest is spot on. The seam you see in the leg is gold and connects to the seam in the trunks.

There is no gold piping/seams on the arms or legs. It should be crystal clear here....there is some sort of outer 'pad' or layer on the leg/thigh, but no gold. The highlight you see there is the light hitting that edge...just like on that extra detail around the cuffs.

hehehe the funny part is that if you add a orange-yellow tint on top of blue you make it even more darker. since we know that orange sun lighting is used in superhero movies this will be a problem.

why was the blue part of spiderman's suit always so dark in Raimi's movies' because they used an orange tint hehehehehehe

I stand corrected about the seam on the arms but I still think the thing on the leg is a gold seam that connects to the seams on the trunks/belt thing and it is very desaturated (giving you the illusion it is not gold) and not some patch on the leg or padding. We wont know for sure till we see another pic.

Also, it is crystal clear that the suit isnt black or anything close to it. It is dark blue.

Nah...it would be more distinct if it was gold piping, and would have more luster in such direct light, like the buckle (even in the shadow), if it was gold...desaturated or not. It's just an extra layer like the cuffs, whose edges are doing the same thing as that one on the leg.

It would make more sense if there was gold piping on the torso/shoulders as well, like that mock-up you posted (which is a cool design in and of itself). But as it is, it's only sensible that it's consistent with what we do see, which is just another layer of dark blue in addition to the textured main bodysuit like around the cuffs.
