I feel that the whole Marvel vs DC mentality is what could cause WB to rush the League. It's not a healthy mentality. Maybe for comics, but not for movies. DC should just try to make great movies and go for the League when their ducks are gathered in a row.

That being said, I want Superman to OWN the summer.

I agree, but I think it's more than just the 'them/us' mentality - I'm sure the accountants at WB let Marvel take the risk with an ensemble flick, then saw the crazy money it made (well over $1b) and now want to get on that superhero bandwagon before it's too late. Of course, superhero films may not just be a recent fad and may be here for a long time to come, but they obviously want to strike now while the iron is hot.

Regardless of their motivations, I just hope Justice League ends up being a good piece of work, and not something they rushed out purely with $$$ in mind. It needs a passionate production team and director behind it. A lot of the success of Avengers was due to Joss Whedon's love for what he was crafting, and his natural understanding of it - as a comic fan and competent director, he was the perfect choice for it. DC need to pick their counterpart carefully.

Who knows, maybe someday we might even get a Marvel/DC crossover like in the comics. Can you imagine Avengers and Justice League squaring off on screen............ :wow::wow: ... (I know it'll never happen, but let me dream dammit)

I can see Jor-El's being ceremonial based on its appearance. It could be a symbol of leadership on his part despite coming from the scientist caste of society.

However, both Zod and Faora's armour look far more utilitarian and practical. I would even say that Zod's armour looks like power armour meant to increase strength and speed.

As a result, I don't think you make generalizations about the purpose of all Kryptonian armour as a whole. We will just have to wait and see.

It's a theory no different than yours. The Kryptonian armor that Zod and his comrades wear may be military issue but we don't know if they enhance their powers.

The image at the bottom of the last page, am I the only one here thinking Storm Trooper?

^ I'm sorry but IM is pretty close to Supes/Bats territory now, thanks to RDJ and Marvel Studios

I like Iron Man but you're incredibly mistaken. Batman is far more iconic and been immersed into pop-culture for decades. It's not close. The character has not only dominated the box office but tv ratings and comic, costume and video game sales too.

Superman, as well, is an icon but the franchise has been in somewhat of a slump. A film like MOS will bring him close to Batman popularity again.

I have some beautiful official hi-res images of Iron Man that were released each time an Iron Man movie came out to market it. They're massive, rich in detail, and sharp. I've made them into wallpapers and can just stare at them and marvel at every tiny detail. But not for my FAVORITE superhero. Not for my MOST anticipated movie. All I have are tiny screenshots from iPads.

But then something amazing happens! All the websites are abuzz with headlines that say "CHECK OUT THE HI-RES PICS EW JUST RELEASED." But nope. They're not hi-res. They're tiny.

These would be the prize collection in my wallpaper folder, but alas, WB apparently doesn't want me to be that excited for Man of Steel.

In no way do I see Iron Man being close to what Nolan did with Batman. I'm talking about the batman films feeling like epics. Like Huge really BIG films. Along side classics like Saving private ryan, and Gladiator Epics. that kind of huge. No chance in hell does Iron Man come close to that. Iron Man is a very cool superhero film, yes. But where a film like TDK was so incredibly close to being nominated for Best Picture (and should've as well), this is something Iron Man will never obtain...

I fully expect MOS to knock the living **** out of all the Iron Man films. And I'm a big Iron Man fan.

Popularity with casual audiences...maybe. The actual film? not a chance, the actual character? again not a chance. You are talking about two characters all the way from the 30's who have been an integral part of pop culture ever since.

And i think what Naite was refering to was the sense of scale and tone, MoS won't take superman with a wink and a smile to the audience the way SR did, the way Marvel films thrive on doing. Some people don't like that...it's fine, but in my personal opinion, a film about Superman needs to feel REAL important, not just another superhero.

Oh my bad I forgot what part of the boards I was in, I'll be leaving now.

I'm really glad to see that they decided to include Lexcorp which goes to show that Lex's inclusion is in there somewhere in some way.

^ And notice the colours of the sign... Hinting toward Lex becoming president in future films?

Guy on the far right is MASSIVE. I'll bet he is the mystery mo-cap man with the head extension.

Hmm, since they're genetically made, they each probably have an expertise.

Zod = General, Faora = Assassin/Mecenary, Tor-An = Spy, Big guy = tank

Now all i need is a Derrick Rose comeback and this will be the greatest month ever, until June obviously

Is it just me, or did Snyder actually read some of these forums? There's two punches, drama, humor, Supes smiling, and the CGI explosions that looked rather fake last time around are a lot more fiery and realistic. Anyway, I was actually offended when he said that movie Superman was "broken", but having seen tiny bits of the "fixed" adaptation, I actually agree. I don't miss that green rock.

I'm loving this trailer...everything about it scream SUPERMAN!!!

Just noticed we never saw Shannon with a beard at all in the trailer. Very interesting. Do people age in the Phantom Zone in this version? Or does he not go there at all? I can't wait to find out.

He could have also grown a beard between escaping Phantom Zone and travelling to Earth.
