The photos of the suit are going to all look pretty different, depending on the photographer's camera/device, white balance, flash/no flash, exposure settings, etc.

In a couple of the photos, I'm definitely starting to see more of the chain mail look that's been mentioned in the past. I'm hoping that when I go tomorrow I'll be able to get some decent detail shots of various parts of the suit.

give us your best...we're counting on you

Are you saying that an island full of Kryptonite is not a villain? I'm not sure I follow your logic there...

:cwink:

No, Lex was the villain. As much as his villain plan sucked, he's still the villain, regardless of whether or not he has the ability to punch Superman through a skyscraper.

If you can,- use a polarized filter. It will cut the glare and reflection from the glass. If you don't have one, use a cheep pair of polarized sunglasses and hold a lens in front of the camera lens! It will really help and seem like X Ray Vision!

Thanks for sharing your photos in advance!

His plan didn't suck I blame that on the editing. His plan was actually very good. His plan was years in the making. I mean he sent Superman to Krypton to die, stole his crystals and almost killed him a second time. As well as took him away from his family and caused him to lose everything he loves. I think he had a very sound plan and it wasn't just about land. But then again all that is on the editing floor.

With the world once again experiencing the faultine between "have" and "have not" very acutely, and with rage against corporate greed and irresponsibility building a head of steam, it is interesting to reflect how timely a showdown between Lex and Clark could seem. TDKR apears to be tackling this very issue, yet it is Superman, with his traditional sympathy for agriculture and labour, that fits the themes better.

Strange to reflect that TMOS has a rare focus away from the Lex/Clark dichotomy, at this poignant time.

True but I feel that is better suited with Batman and TDKR.

However, the Superman/Zod dynamic can most definitely reflect the recent and ongoing religious and cultures wars so all is not lost.

He was teasing....see the :cwink:

Suit looks amazing. Blows the Superman Returns suit out of the water.

So, after a certified day from hell trying to get down to San Diego, finally made it with just enough time to pick up mine and my boyfriend's passes and do a quick pass through some of the exhibit floor. First stop: Warner Bros. and the "Man of Steel" costume.

With so little time, I only got one cell phone image and only a handful of images on my Canon. It's difficult to shoot (without a polarized lens) since the glass around it reflects EVERYTHING, especially the Hobbit trailer playing right next to it.

My impressions from seeing it with my own eyes...

This suit is beautiful, really. I'm still not used to the alien designs around the sides, but overall... I find it hard not to be struck by how impressive the suit is, and that's what I'm loving about it. It is impressive. The blue is, in person, quite dark. It works, though, as it helps make the red really stand out, without the red needing to be really bright.

The texture is something I was most curious about. In the first official still, it looks almost scaly. This is not the case. There's been discussion that it's actually meant to look like chain mail, and it really does. The fact the the texture is all over the costume bugs me a bit, but hopefully it'll read really well on screen. The cape's obviously cloth look is a welcome change from... Other... More... Shiny, rubbery-looking materials. It looks regal and weighty but I bet it'll billow fantastically.

Looking back as I walked away, I was still struck by what an amazing impression it creates. The level that the shield is raised, its size, the way the cape is attached and draped... It's certainly new and different looking, and has elements that are taking getting used to, but damn, that suit just screams "SUPERMAN."

I am so, so, so excited to see whatever they show us tomorrow at the panel. I'm sure there are plenty of others who are going to be covering it and providing updates and such, but I'm going to do my best remember everything as clearly as possible and share my thoughts here.

^ thanks for sharing your impressions, Zorex!! the suit does look beautiful, and I'm glad that you think it looks impressive!! hopefully, we will get to see what it looks like on screen in the teaser.

have fun at the MOS panel tomorrow!!

we expect a full and detailed analysis of everything that goes on! :oldrazz:

Yep, I'm guessing only people attending the Con will see whatever footage might be revealed and that it wont go online (unless it's the teaser), so yes please, do tell us everything.

Is the superman panel happening TODAY???? Are we gonna get the goods, soon enough???!!

It's gonna be SO surreal, seeing that teaser! Watching the very FIRST footage from the very first reboot of superman, ever!... And I'm fairly certain that they have something quite impressive in store for Us - and not just a lame logo teaser... I recall, all the way back till christmass, when they were saying they was shooting footage for the teaser. So if this ends up as a logo-trailer, color med disappointed.

This suit is a thing of beauty! The most beautiful Superman suit to date - and the very first time I really think Superman LOOKS truly bad_ass! I don't know if Cavill wearing it, has something to do with it? Never the less...

What are the chances that this suit is so alien in origin, that it somehow morphs out from one place and covers our hero??? Has this kind of thing been discussed? Isn't there a chance that Snyder AND Nolan, along with Goyer (whom we all know came up with the story) has come up with an idea for CK to NOT simply be wearing the suit underneath his normal clothing??? I mean, it's pretty damn primitive now at days. Not to mention that the cape is exstremely big and would be damn hard to shuff down ones pants without looking weird, and giving CK an enormous ass!:whatever: Just the mere fact that CK simply wearing the suit underneath his daytime clothing, is one_hell_of_a_risk-taker!! It's bound to be noticed sooner, rather then later... I know most of you would just say that it's simply one of those things you accept, and let's go. Kinda like Banner, managing to be keeping his pants on whenever turning in to Hulk! BUT. Seeing how this is a reboot, couldn't they FINALLY give this issue some notice and be clever about it!? Rather then just "let it be"???

The new 52 DC Universe stories (in comics) have a nano super suit that grows on Clark Kent, maybe they will go that route in MOS movie.

You may be right about the suit growing.

That's how it was in Flyby with the Kryptonian suit in a can thing, and they've visually lifted a lot from that treatment.

This suit doesn't look like one Clark could wear under his reporter clothes. I mean it has gauntlets and metal parts.

I love it. The sheild, the velvet cape and those wing patterns on either side.

I've said pretty much all along that, IMO, the cape and boots (at the least) will be some kinda nano tech that morphs into different types of clothing. regular shoes to his boots, coat to his cape.
If it does happen, then I hope the cape and boots are the extent of it. I dont wanna see the whole suit be that way.

If that's the route I seriously hope they tread cautiously about it. I still think it sounds a little too far fetched even for Superman, and it could come off as really tacky if wrongly executed.

That's how he suit works in the comics now too.
