Man Of Steel has so much time devoted to editing, that it could end up being the most flawless film in history. Really is no excuses. This should be a masterpiece beyond any other in the superhero genre, in terms of presentation. Excellent cast too, and expert director of action in Snyder, superb writer in Nolan, giving it a great chance of overall perfection.

indeed

Also has a trailer expert, in Snyder (and Nolan is good with the trailers too). Hope we get a billion dollars from this film.

Like everyone else, I hope the trailer is epic, but the SR trailers were pretty good too and then we got...well...what we got. Now I don't expect that to be the case because of the people involved, but you never know.

it finished filming in feb?????????
That's what I'd heard. An abundance of time for re-shoots, editing, VFX, scoring... When you think about it, the release schedule should benefit us pretty well, in that they'll have the entire film in hand (in some form) when they start rolling out stuff to us.

950 K? You're fired.

Too little or too much? LOL.

yeah I would rather wait 6 months for a quality final product. Hopefully the trailer wont disappoint.

Agreed. I've always been a fan of the summer 2013 date for that reason. Also, in terms of the tone they are going for, I don't think it would have fit in during Christmas... Superman Returns however, that might have been a better time for it.

If you're referring to continuity and such, that's not exactly how editing works. Yes, there is plenty that editing has to do with continuity, but more has to do with on set, script supervisor, how things are shot, etc.

Not to mention the potential for overworking.

I think it was an honest mistake. the poster obviously meant 950 gazillion.

I believe she meant editing for special effects and all. Which needs a lotta work.

Don't forget...our opinions don't matter according to him since we're nothing but "bias fanboys" as he worded it.:whatever:

Thankfully we're not bias. He's just wrong. :cwink: As Pa Kent said in Superman vs. The Elite, ''Truth, Justice and the American way. If it's not broken, don't fix it.''

I really hope that we here some substantial things soon regarding MOS next week when it's presented at that convention.

It's still hard for me to believe that it was close to a year ago that filming started, where we started getting fan pictures of the things happening at the Smallville Set.lol

Man, once TDKR premieres, I want MOS pictures to start flooding in.lol

No mention of MOS on this week's EW-cover at all, can only mean a bigger focus in a later issue. Next week maybe? I dunno how they operate.

And the lack of news and info regarding the SDCC-panel is strange, but I reckon it'll pop up soon enough. I dont think they're concerned with stepping on TDKR's shoes since it's opening in a couple of weeks and the main PR has been launched. MOS can let it out safely I would assume, although it's still a year away.

Got my EW yesterday (for some reason), and there is little mention of MOS in there. They have a little blurb about where DC is heading post TDKR and say:

This year's Comic-Con could be the first step in DC's movie renaissance if early footage of Henry Cavill in Man of Steel proves to be bulletproof :whatever: with fanboys and fangirls. (2006's Superman Returns, unfortunately, was not.)

I don't take that as confirmation of footage being present, though I'm sure it will be. And what an unnecessary dig at SR.

The do have a fun little doodle of Cavill as Superman though, which is kind of funny since it's a torso shot that is sans-trunks, and no official picture of the suit like that has been release.

The lack of MOS news even about the panel itself, I think is evidence that WB is doing some snuffing behind the scenes.

...about the panel even.

So along with footage of MOS, do you all think that we can also expect a couple of character posters as well? Plus I'm sure that they will have the suits on display as well. At least I would think they would. I have never been to SDCC, so does anyone have any insight as to what can be expected with something as big as MOS?

I strongly suspect there's an issue of EW coming up that will focus largely on Batman and Supes, as soon as the MOS trailer lands attached to TDKR. Part of the massive event that is TDKR. I was just reading the Comic-Con issue, and they definitely seem to be holding back with their MoS coverage, imo.

You would think that the studio would want Man Of Steel posters in theaters when the Dark Knight Rises fans and the general public are streaming in to see The Dark Knight Rises.

I wouldn't think that they would put up posters for a movie that's still 11 months out. Considering whatever space said poster would be taking up could be used for something that's coming out WAY sooner than next year. On the other hand, again, I have no idea how the industry works. As far as when posters are displayed in theaters, is that up to the individual theater's management or does the studio have a say as to when to display them?

Teaser posters can some out long before a film is released. The teaser poster for Superman Returns came out at the end of August 05. I think it was August 30th or 31st. That was about 10 months and change.

Well yeah, I know they are released months in advance, almost a year in some cases. I just mean actually displaying them in theaters. I dunno, I've just never seen a teaser poster for a movie actually being displayed in a theater this early. I wonder if they tend to do it in the big cities?
