I wish they would dabble in different religions. Filming documentaries about Christianity gets boring after a while. It's like they're trying to stir **** up. I just don't care anymore.

It's been done. There's so much more interesting history.
I wish they'd focus on HISTORY and dabble with religions on the side.

And No one is forcing you to watch them. :p

Nope, but I'm not a fan of re-writing history to suit you theological perspective.

Just focus on things that actually happened and can be proven.

It's just a comment, Apollo. This thread isn't exclusively for Christianity.

Yeah it will run well into Easter. It does talk about controversial topics though such as the gospel of Judas and Mary. So it may not be for every Christian. I know my Uncle probably won't watch it because of that. But I find it all very interesting.
The episodes include
1. The Shroud of Turin
Is an ancient linen cloth bearing the image of a crucified man the very shroud that Joseph wrapped Jesus in?

2. John the Baptist
Who was the real John the Baptist? An investigation of a relic believed to be a bone from his finger uncovers proof of John's powerful legacy.

3. The Gospel of Judas
Does an ancient codex discovered in an Egyptian burial cave answer why Judas betrayed Jesus? Premieres March 15 at 9pm ET/PT.

4. The Secret Brother of Jesus
The discovery of an extraordinary 2000 year-old burial box brings to light the remarkable story of Jesus' brother James. Premieres March 22 at 9pm ET/PT.

5. The True Cross
Are pieces of the cross Jesus died on still in existence today? The incredible legend of the True Cross is investigated. Premieres March 29 at 9pm ET/PT.

6. Mary Magdalene
Could ancient texts preserved in the sands of Egypt shed light on the nature of Mary's relationship with Jesus? Premieres April 5, Easter Sunday, at 9pm ET/PT.

Even if you missed an episode they repeat it on Sundays. CNN dedicated 4 hours last night to the finding Jesus. They may also have it on CNN or Comcast on demand to stream

Thanks will definitely check it out!

I'd like to see more focus on animism beliefs. I like the idea of people respecting animals and their environment because they think there are spirits dwelling within everything.

Because at the time people were getting really sick from it because they didn't know how to store it and cook it, so someone said to ban it for safety concerns and tell everyone it's a religious thing.

It's not a problem anymore.
I've been told that before. And I've met Jews and Muslims who will eat pepperoni because they'll eat anything. Not judging 'em, but I don't think it was a contemporary thing.

I like that too.

How many people die today from pork consumption vs back then?

I know the answer, do you?

How many people die from marijuana use every year?

It's not forbidden because it's supposed to kill you. It's not healthy. Now, though there are other quarrels I have with my own faith, this isn't one of them.

Marijuana's amazing.

It doesn't seem to be helping my brother too much. But he "dabs", which I'm told is not the best for people with mental conditions.

So do you go to mosque often?

I remember when I was in Indonesia, they had prayer rooms right by the bathrooms in the airports. I felt like I was intruding. It wasn't the best spot for praying. I was also staying in a guesthouse right across from a mosque. They had prayers going over megaphone at all hours of the day and night. After a few days, you get used to it.

Everything in moderation.

And pork probably wouldn't help much for those with health issues. I'm sorry to hear about your brother though. I've had my own issues with pot myself but it's all about the understanding that too much of anything will be bad. Moderation is key, and it varies for every person.

yeah, I used to go every friday. also when I'm driving around and I'm close by it I'll stop by there too.

Indonesia's got the biggest muslim population. I dunno if this is related, but they also have the highest rates of schizophrenia.

I am not religious. but I wouldn't describe myself as an atheist either. I believe in spirits and guardian angels and fate and ultimately a higher power.

I try to respect the positive aspects of all religions. It's when people pervert and abuse their religion and use their God's name to harm other people that I get turned off. It also bugs me when atheists try to deny others their religious freedoms.

Whatever your faith or belief, it should inspire and drive you to help others and make the world a better place.

Pork is not healthy? You're wrong. It wasn't then because of the diseases and incorrect consumption. It's fine now and a healthy meat.

How this thread turn into a discussion about pork and weed? That has nothing to do with anything here.
