How this thread turn into a discussion about pork and weed? That has nothing to do with anything here.
the last page was a discussion about sex. all things here have to do with rules applied by some organized religion.

Pork is banned by two major religions and we're discussing why.

It has everything to do with this thread. It's not all about Jesus documentaries.

You opened up this can of worms, remember.

The church I attend ( Wave Church in Virginia Beach, VA) is full of young people, in fact it kinda has a rep of being like a hipster type of church lol. There are older people 40 and older that attend of course, but the young people influence (18-30) and younger middle and high school kids. I am 27 and been apart of the young adult ministry for the three years I been at the church.

All my friends who are married that attend the church waited until marriage to have sex. They weren't damaged or oppressed by waiting. Like I mentioned a few times before, most Christians come out BETTER for waiting. The bonds with their significant others is stronger. Sex with your soul mate is all you need. Pre martial sex in my opinion just leads people comparing various sexual partners to one another and could lead to worse issues, like porn addiction, lusting after the wrong kinds of people etc. And again, what the bible teaches about waiting for sex has sound reasoning behind it, which I also went depth about on previous posts. But I am not gonna get back on that topic again.
That church sounds very interesting I will check out their website.
The church I go to I guess is aimed more towards an older crowd. The preacher is old, around his 60's. The staff is all old. Though one of the preaching assistants is in his 40's or so. The website is all outdated. It looks like they haven't changed it in 10 years. However the church is very modern it was built in the 90's. So it is a very warm and welcoming church. Just not a lot of people my own age. I would love to attend a Church that is geared to my age, but I wouldn't know where to look. Mostly all the churches in my area are for older people. At least that is what it seems like. I have to do more research on churches in my area.

*Snaps out of it*
I actually don't even like eating bacon.. or pork :o

I am sure some people die form it has you are smoking. Any smooking is not heathly for you has you are breathing in smoke and that in its self is unheathly.
na man. nobody, and I mean, NOBODY, has ever OD'd on marijuana. or gotten lung cancer from smoking it.

I remember when I was a teenager and thought marijuana was just a bad thing and someone I knew in a band came back in after smoking some, and he claimed... that in the Bible, it was mentioned that Jesus once used the herb.

Yeah it is 6 episodes. But for me it isn't long enough though since they have to condense a lot of the information into 40 minute episodes. The Shroud of Turin episode and the John the Baptist should have been longer. But there are plenty of other documentary shows about the same subject matter that has a lot more information. There is an hour long documentary produced by BBC on the shroud which talk mostly about the science. A lot of their findings CNN didn't have time to report on. Finding Jesus is great for those who want to get and idea on what these relics are. Not to mention the wonderfully produced dramatization. I say once you watch these it would be important to watch the other documentaries that explain a lot more. Many of them are on Youtube and Netflix.

Oh I see interesting.

I don't know about OD but I am sure that smoking it can cause a lot of problems being able to breath and such but of course it is not has bad has things like cigerets has it doesn't have a million different chemicerls in it.

Mary Jane is a fine lady.

I think Jesus would approve, at least my take on Jesus would.

yeah, smoking anything is bad for you that's for sure. but smoking tobacco is much worse than smoking marijuana.

it's interesting because hash, hashish... this is a pretty common thing in the Middle East yeah? I wonder how it is handled there if marijuana is supposed to be haram.

Weight so the girl in you avatar is named Mary jane? Is she an actress or what? Who is she I mean?
mary jane = marijuana.

for those of you who are avid readers of the Bible - does it say anything specifically about marijuana? Wine is used for communion, so I know not all intoxicants are off the table.

I am not religious. but I wouldn't describe myself as an atheist either. I believe in spirits and guardian angels and fate and ultimately a higher power.

I try to respect the positive aspects of all religions. It's when people pervert and abuse their religion and use their God's name to harm other people that I get turned off. It also bugs me when atheists try to deny others their religious freedoms.

Whatever your faith or belief, it should inspire and drive you to help others and make the world a better place.

:yay::up:

oh lol. Yeah I know that Mary jane= marijuana but I thought you where talking about the avatar for some reason lol.

I'd like to see more focus on animism beliefs. I like the idea of people respecting animals and their environment because they think there are spirits dwelling within everything.

I really dig this, but how does it work if you eat meat? I've been to Argentina and for the most part, it seems like their cows are so much happier and better tasting down there. They roam around free in a relaxed environment.

It works by having a belief system that is about the acceptance of life feeding on life, and not sanitizing the act of killing another life to continue another, but also honoring the life taken, and that may mean a more humane way of raising and killing food animals. Frankly, I love meat, but we all are separated from the act of killing animals the way our ancestors were not, even recently.
