Did anyone feel that Tobey Maguire really captured the way Christopher Daniel Barnes voiced Peter Parker/Spider-Man? Primarily in the first two films. Not every line of course, but there were times where it was reminiscent of the animated series. Like the whole conversation Peter [in the suit] has with Hal Sparks in the elevator where talks about his suit, or some of the one liners during the fight scenes. There's another scene (SM1 I believe) where of course you have a child in a deer in the headlights moment when IIRC a hot air balloon was about to fall over him, he murmurs 'Move kid,' and what not.

So? Any opinions? Opposing are welcome of course :woot:

No, I don't agree at all.

Tobey's voice is so light, and sometimes it's almost squeaky. I don't know how MJ or Aunt May don't recognise it. It's so distinguishable. Tobey sounded much better in the Spider-Man video games. Had more quips, too.

Christopher Daniel Barnes is Spider-man.

His work is the standards every other actor is judged by. :)

It's like christopher reeves and superman.

or kevin conroy and batman.

heck,

Robert Downey Jr. IS iron man

I think Tobey did a great job...but I don't think he brought much to the character in terms of all the aspects of Peter/Spider-man. except for crying and squeaking every other scene.

Like he has any predecessors?

O/T: But you joined exactly a year later than me and have more than twice as many posts :(

Yeah, Robert Hays who played Iron man in the animated series. :yay:
The show had serious elements, so yeah I consider both to be a good interpretation of Tony Stark.

and I've been on here for a while kiddo.
I just decided to create a new account so I could change my name. :yay:

I thought his voice was perfect-but for some odd reason, only when he was threatening villains.
"It's you who's out Gobby; out of your mind!"
"Shut it down, Ock. You're gonna hurt a lot more people this time."
"Flint Marko."
Why he couldn't maintain that tone all the time I don't know.
