I'm telling you, when Sony/Marvel decide upon a new actor to take the mantle of PP/S-M, that actor will ideally embody the new Peter Parker characterization just as TM embodied Raimi's characterization. If/when that happens, we will accept future installments as legitimate cinematic canon. If done right, we will disregard the previous movies as the only movies that can exist, and will judge the new ones on their own merit. Trust me as a long-time reader, the S-M legend goes way beyond the origin/S-M no more/symbiote stories.

Then while promoting FlyBoys, James Franco said possibly... if Sam's in it... he also said it depends on who the actors are...

... so maybe that's a spoiler that Harry won't die in 3.

At least we know JK Simmons is willing to "do a Spider-man every 3 years".. or whatever he said.

Still.. in an ideal world they'd all stick with it. I thought Franco was done after this, but something that superhero films haven't done yet (as far as I know, not counting Superman since that's apparantly the only villain they know), which comics do endlessly, is have a villain come back. Harry would be so great for this, just because of the history. Then again, if they want to be true to the comics, Venom would have to come back so Spidey could defeat Carnage, assuming they do Carnage. I kind of hope they wait for 5 to do him, though. I think Lizard should be next, but that's just me.

If Kirsten left.. bleh. Didn't MJ die recently? She's back, I know.. but there was a brief 'death of MJ' storyline.. maybe they could work with that.

It's going to take Sam Raimi to be the final factor in whether or not T-Mags and Kirsten come back.

I don't think Raimi will end up doing the Hobbit (I hope not anyway, I believe that the LOTR movies need to stick with Pete Jackson, even if they have to wait for this whole New Line bs to get over with.)

As much as I want the 4th Spidey flick, I won't be too terribly upset if they stop for awhile. We already have 3 amazing movies to work with as it is

In the comic, Gwen was his first love, she died, and he went on to MJ. Peter's always been a two-woman man.
