Compared to what? It is a more colorful Persona 4. Even the classic Persona setting. Have you played the last two Persona games? What the Persona 4 anime? With the exception of a very small resemblance to Fire Emblem, the artstyle says otherwise.
Yeah, I don't have a huge amount of experience with Persona, but that looks Persona as **** I can tell. And one thing that's worth keeping in mind is that the trailer was the Japanese trailer (if that wasn't totally obvious by it being completely in Japanese). Not every Japanese trailer is like that, but it's not uncommon for them to really emphasis the...lets say, Japanese-ness of something, especially in unveiling trailers. There's some interesting stuff in there, like when the guy is overlooking a destroyed Tokyo, so I would wait before we see something else before jumping to conclusions.

As to Fire Emblem, look the Marth lookalike.

I don't care if you like Persona. I personally do. So I am not taking jabs at it at all. My point is that it clearly looks like Persona 3 and 4, and if you don't play them well, ok. But just because you don't have experience with the series, doesn't mean this game doesn't clearly mirror it.Jabs on Persona doesn't work on me, I actually hate the series. In fact, I DESPISED games like Persona 3. But aside from that, I personally think it looks as generic as any other JRPG.
Plus.... Really? A guy that's using some generic sci-fi costume resembles Fire Emblem? Maybe it's inspired by it, but I wouldn't call it similar.
That is because you probably have never played either series. Not to me it doesn't :\ Especially the way the trailer did it.

Hey, maybe it will be terrible. You never do know, but I trust Atlus. But yes, clearly heavily Persona based. After a bit of research, it definetely draws heavily from Persona. I'm sure it will end up being good, but it is just a bit of a shock to they system.
Dissing Persona doesn't makes my point any less true. Horrible attempt at cover.Uhhh.. Yes... I did. I remember that Fire Emblem didn't have sci-fi costumes with laser projectiles that came from visual novels in Japan. I also don't remember a pegasus being a robotic flying motorcycle. To be fair, there was at least a small glimpse of an actual pegasus.
The more I look at the trailer, however, it does resemble the bad atlus games.
You may consider that stuff bad. That still doesn't change the clear thought line in the look of the game.I didn't SAY Persona. They made more than that, in which I hated a lot of them.
As much as it looks like Fire Emblem to you, it doesn't to me. A possible reason I don't see much resemblance to it is probably because it reminds me of bad visual novels/anime/JRPGs.

puchinri Mod Deuteragonist To be honest, I don't think this direction came around until a ways after the initial announcement. But there actually was some hint dropped that this may be what we see (someone linked a interview/quote from the director), I think it just didn't make the rounds enough. It's actually curious to me that it wasn't mentioned on Siliconera ever, unless I don't remember it. It would probably have helped some of the reactions going on here.
Again, I think the first analogy you made works to a point, but it can't work completely. III is a number sequel. It's expected to be like the first two games. As a new crossover of both series, we have general expectations, but there aren't many implications (because it's a new product and we can only think that the gameplay and tone at least are implied).

As for my self I agree with some of what Darth has stated cause this what's been with alot in other mediums. we know that even Dc & marvel( the latter of which is about do with their universe sadly) other's like transformers Generation 1 there multiple version of their universes which don't even star the same character with the same names at times , they're using the bubble universe theory/ multiple reality thing ,to play with here, only again introducing new characters, as to not make the older fan's mad if the game isn't well received . so new audience in way![]()
puchinri Mod Deuteragonist • a day ago That's why I think it doesn't work as well as an analogy though, because fans should and will expect very different things from a numbered sequel than they would a crossover that isn't a sequel. If III's gameplay changes, people would be miffed. If it changes dramatically, they have every right to miffed. With this, there isn't as much reason to be miffed. (Some, but not the extent that some people are taking it.)
I think part of the problem is that some things were said, but they weren't reported everywhere so some of us were really out of the loop.
For me, I'm used to being disappointed by Atlus lately so I wasn't too disappointed (I mean, I am because it's not what I thought and because it's not what I wanted).
I'm excited, but I also know to contain myself. They could still disappoint me (more)!
I agree~. To an extent I'm okay with some female fanservice, but it's so pervasive (and gross in some cases) a lot of games could cut back on it. I'll be glad if this doesn't throw it in our faces (but with how Atlus and Intelligent Systems are lately, my hopes aren't up).
You put way too much effort into replying to him. LastBlade's MO is pretty much posting hyperbolic silliness.
And what exactly is up with those quotes and who are they suppose to be from?
yeah it does seeing it's what the mod was saying which I felt was important for some one like last blade to get a point a cross since he was going for most of the page it was counter to what he was saying to make clearDoes it really matter what they are saying on other sites?
