Tom Cruise in...The Magnificent Seven

Rowsdower didn't have to take it as an insult either, but he did. Wasn't intended that way.

Perhaps not. No worries. Anyway, regardless of this guy's talent, I think the major disappointment here is Cruise no longer being involved. I feel like the only way for this to really work is to get a bunch of big names (or at least three big names and four recognizable people). This cast needs to feel as epic as the original.

Cruise in an old west mustache and hat would be draw by default.

Aye I was hoping they'd go for an Ocean's Eleven-style mega-cast and they still might but Cruise no longer being attached is disappointing.

Cruise probably backed out when he found out that the role required very little running.

Cruise backing out doesn't really surprise me. This doesn't seem like his sort of movie, esp the ensemble-ness of it.

It's a shame though. I think a good Western would be a nice change of pace for Cruise. He's been doing spy thrillers and sci-fi actioners a lot lately.

At least he has a comedy and a racing movie on his slate.

Yeah. The racing movie sounds like it could be really good too, especially if Brad Pitt is also on board.

He was in MI: Ghost Protocol and that was an ensemble film. Heck he had a supporting role in Tropic Thunder while wearing a fat suit.

^ yup he can lead an ensemble ie the mission and support ie magnolia.
and actually he was once attached to 3:10 to yuma before.
seems he's willing to do a western to say the least.
