Elizah was just posting things that she thought were fun and/or funny. And as it happens, several people also thought they were fun and/or funny. That would be because they have overlap in perspective, at least on this particular topic.

Now, a side effect was that erstwhile lurkers who share that point of view likely recognized their own viewpiont(s) represented (at least to some extent) and then felt more comfortable participating. That's helpful if, for example, (to use the immortal phrase of CherokeeSam), "we need more estrogen in this sausage stand" . People from different backgrounds necessarily approach their fandoms differently and likely will have different views than whoever was there previously.

And now, people are just continuing posting what they think (and likely thought before Elizah posted anything). As I said before, the forum is really nothing more than the sum of what everyone posts.
