Odin HAS to die against Surtur. Thor will inherit the odinforce, defeat surtur with Loki's aid, and he very well may possess the odin force against Thanos :P
There was a lot of talent involved in "The Avengers," but I think the guy who came out of nowhere, so to speak, and developed the most rabid fanbase was Tom Hiddleston. Has the immense reaction to his portrayal opened up the possibilities for the future of the character?
Ive been surprised and happy that so many cast members and characters have gotten that response. Hiddleston is a case in himself. We discovered that when we were going around the world promoting the movie, in Moscow and in the the U.K. and in Rome, and all these people behind the barricades at the premieres were holding Lokis Armies signs or wearing homemade helmets with horns on it. We sat around years ago saying we needed a villain in the MCU, as complex and dynamic as Magneto is. Magneto is one of the best villains in both the comics and in the movies. The way that Tom brought Loki to life, with all of those different emotions and up to Hulk smashing him into the ground, were already having fun with Tom on the set of "Dark World." We hope to have that continue. Even if you didnt read comics or werent versed in mythology and had no idea who Loki was -- and hes kind of out there with his big horns -- they responded to him, particularly women. Tom is an amazing looking specimen but also because of that darkness, I think they find a sexiness with him as a badboy.
t:Hiddleston will reprise the role for next years sequel, Thor: The Dark World, directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones). Will Loki finally find redemption?
I hope so, I really hope so, Hiddleston said. I hope you can see glimmers of it in The Avengers. Theres a bit where were on the tower and Thors like, Look around. You dont have to do this. I think hes probably going to get a hiding when he goes back home. I think his fathers going to have a few things to say. Grounded for a long time. I havent read a script yet, but I know that we certainly cant recycle what weve done. Loki, I think, has been about as bad as he can be.
Article on Tom:

Article is from before he'd seen the script for Thor 2, but he does say this on his thoughts regarding it:
It did seem to me that during the tower fight, that Loki was being honest when he said it was too late. I don't think he really meant too late to stop the army. I think he meant it's too late for him and its too late to stop Thanos since he already made a deal with Thanos and made Thanos aware of Earth.
Loki is in some deep deep **** and he knows it but being a prideful godling I really don't think he'd ask anyone's help.
He doesn't have to be good. He can be like Gollum in Return of the King. Cooperative, but still shady.NOOOOOOOOOOO I don't want a good Loki. I still want to see him doing, evil Loki things -_-
They seem to be keeping Loki under lock and key...

They seem to be keeping Loki under lock and key...
Hey, you never know, they might just give Loki his own spin off movie or something.
Literally and figuratively speaking?
I'm thinking though that they haven't filmed any scenes that require Loki in them. Remember the movie is called Thor. I'm guessing that Loki's not quite the warrior type so he'd stay as far away from combat as he can. Judging by his combat experience in Avengers he'll be thinking the battlefield is not to his liking.
Still I'd love to see what his costume looks like. I mean his Avengers costume was such a beautiful piece of art to me the costume designer will really have to pull out all the stops in this one. And if judging by the images of Sif and Thor's costume is to be trusted they'll hopefully make we Loki fans all happy.

I wonder if he will even have a costume if not rags if he is being punished hehe...
Or wearing the same armor from The Avengers but banged up and broken/dirtied at places. IMO that would be cool to see if Thor/Odin has him imprisoned and being punished. But I did love Loki's costume in his past two films and do kinda hope for a surprise in this one.

*raises hand* ohhh...ohhhh... can I vote for shirtless if he's being punished?!?!?!
*COUGH* Sorry, raging fangirl outburst there... couldn't rein it in before it slipped out![]()
Hopefully they're forced to not wear shirts...If Loki were in prison in Asgard. How do you think he'll be treated? What would his prison be like? What does prisoners in Asgard wear?
I'm really on one for some reasonHopefully they're forced to not wear shirts...
sorry...I'm really on one for some reason
*it's Friday... just 7 1/2 hours of work to go*
BTW, it's amazing how many hits to franchises *other* than that of "Thor" a Google search of "prisoner asgard" will turn up. . . .
