Tom is the ultimate candidate for this role (pun intended)

I honestly can't decide...
though I would have to go with Tom. (for now)
He seems more well rounded in the sense that he could play both PP and SM well. He can do drama, can be a bit humorous (still not perfect spidey material from what I have seen) he can play the shy kid or the more confident webslinger.
It is a hard choice though, I would never want to have to settle for one or the other.

Also... after looking for videos of him, I keep finding videos of him doing hand stands and such:

(Literally like the first two videos I found of him.)

Unless Marvel picks Isaac.
There could still be a surprise.
We can never know until it happens.
I mean, just look at Sophie Turner. She got to be a superhero.

It's almost become a thing to hate Isaac here. Just as it was with Asa before and has become again now.

Eh, not too keen on either, but I guess Holland. Asa looks too weird, almost Benedict Cumberbatch weird.

For your information: Not agreeing with your opinion is not the same as joining a bandwagon or it being "a thing".

Tom.

I'm one of those people though, that's basing primarily off looks atm. Kinda. Sorta? I've only seen a couple of Asa's films, nothing from Tom. Though been watching interviews from both and find Tom more likeable. I'll get around to seeing more of both.

Tom's shorter than RDJ (lifts or not)? He'd look perfect with him and Evans.

Butterfield just... I hate-- as I said before, I'm basing my decision on appearance right now (at least in Tom's favor), and I hate doing so then following it up with something like this, but yeah, something about Asa's face I just don't like. His smart ass attitude from EG is what I'm currently associating him with, so there's that (he was still great in the film btw).

Tom Holland is the best choice out of any actor for Spider-Man imo. I have to watch some of his films, but from what I've seen, I thought he was great.

I might watch The Impossible now just to see what he's like.

What's the best movie to watch with Tom Holland in it from those who've seen his movies?

"The Impossible" and "How We Live"

Do you mean How I Live Now? He was good in that but only in the first half of the movie. It's on Netflix if anyone wants to check it out though

Just finished watching The Impossible. To see a 14-15 year old pull of a performance like that was great. I loved his scenes in the movie and thought he did fantastic in the role. If he can pull off the comedy like I think he can, he'll be the best Spidey yet by far.

For me between asa looks and uncertainty in comedy. Those are some factors on me not liking him in the role. Where tom has a slightly better look and with his background likely more with what we want out of spidey. Still not ideal picks. But again if it's only tom or asa I am going for tom.

Asa Butterfield, I'm not too impressed with the choices. Butterfield showed some good acting shops in 'Boy in Striped Pyjamas' but he looks so young. Even though that's what they're aiming for now, I just don't know how I feel about it.

Thankful they didn't go with Dylan O'Brien and Logan Lerman though.

Here's my take on things.

As it stands, Tom Holland is the clear cut choice. On the surface, he just has more of the qualities needed from a Spidey actor. He has great physicality and athletic ability, he's a great actor, and his rather chipper, enthusiastic, and fun loving personality lends itself to the Peter AND Spidey sides of the role.

Asa on the other hand is a HUGE question mark. We know he's a phenomenal dramatic actor, and he has a more traditional look for Peter, but we don't much else about him in regards to this role, and if he has the qualities needed.

We don't know if he can pull off the physical aspect, and we don't know if he can pull off the comedy, since his typically dry, monotonous nature doesn't lend itself to that.

That said, if Asa does have those qualities, and or has the talent to portray them, the he's easily the perfect choice.

So, just going off what we know and have seen.... they should pick Tom. But if Asa wows them, and proves he's better than Tom seemingly is, then by all means, he should be chosen.

I'm not too familiar with Holland, therefore I went with Butterfield. Why? Just because I liked him in Ender's Game and my ideal casting would be Maguire again. Or Lerman!

I think it might be a pretty tough choice.

I think Asa actually could work if the Peter Parker version in the films is dry and looks like a 12 year old who's thinner than a stick and with a look and personality that's generally not the one we know and love from the comics. Then he'd be an ideal choice and in this category, Tom falls short.

Asa just seems right to me. He screams 'traditional looking Peter', and I hope he gets the role.

Leeds that's my thought with asa. Again he is a hood actor. But is just lacking things to make him a fit. Where as tom has the stuff. But still ideally both aren't first choices. But between the two tom would likely make a better spidey.
