Aw man, they didn't show it before my screening. I feel robbed. Would've killed to hear that audience's reaction.I can't believe they showed this before Lion King![]()
Sonic's CGI is awful though. Worse then this.my god this looks bad some of the worst cgi i have seen in some time
atleast sonic was just a poor design choice this is just bad cgi
the actors faces are literally floating
You came in here explaining like we didn't know what we were looking at. I know what Cats is. I love musicals in general. Hell, I literally watched one on YT about Batman today. That doesn't change how this looks. And yes, when you decide you need to "teach" us what we are looking at, you are implying an issue at how we are viewing it.
Lots of silence. I sat closer to the screen, so I wasn't able to look around too much, but I can imagine some of those little kids having nightmares tonight, hahaAw man, they didn't show it before my screening. I feel robbed. Would've killed to hear that audience's reaction.
Exhibit A, where you act like people don't know what the hell Cats is:Uh…where?
I addressed specific points that people were making. Am I not allowed to do that?
Near as I can tell, I mostly addressed the fact that they didn’t look like cats, which seemed to be a complaint about the approach, and the general weirdness of the designs.
Where did I try to teach anyone anything? I’m just making conversation. Are you threatened by someone else simply discussing the elements of something you don’t care for or something?
I know what Cats is. I know what the cats in Cats are suppose to look like. This is not what they look like. As my brother said as soon as he saw it, "Why didn't they just put some people in some badass costumes". People are not dragging this movie because it looks like the original concept. It is being dragged for looking creepy, with it's poor CGI and even poorer creative decisions.Cue people being surprised that the key visual concept for the characters in CATS is more or less the visual concept for CATS that was so popular onstage for so long. This is what the cats look like in CATS. They're people in humanoid cat costumes.
It looks like CATS with a bigger budget and a few modern jokes tossed in. I don't really see the issue, aside from the "neccessity" of its existence as an adaption.
Yeah, this might be a good starting point how to adapt Thundercats. Not gonna lie, this got me thinking bout a live-action ThundercatsDidn't know I needed this but I want Tay Tay as Cheetara
AV Club comments for the win!
As in what direction to not start from.Yeah, this might be a good starting point how to adapt Thundercats.
No.Actually, isn’t that how Cheetah is supposed to look?
