Hm, hard to see.

It looks like the crowd is following a carriage, and inside the carriage looks to be a brown coffin-shaped box. I bet this is LaMarque's funeral.

Another student confirmed:

Les MiserablesUS@LesMisUSTour
@TheGabrielVick congratulations!!! What role do you have?

Gabriel Vick@TheGabrielVick
@LesMisUSTour I am Feuilly!

Seems like they're going to be filming three pretty big scenes around the same time. I've seen Tweets indicating Lovely Ladies isn't quite done (probably due to the incident that happened recently), the barricades are being built and students are about to film, and Look Down is in rehearsal and sections of Paris are being built. The crew of this movie is superhuman, I swear! :funny:

From someone who watched some filming:

Joshua Archer @Josh_Archer96
@killiandonnelly @frafee Happened to be in Greenwhich today and watched Les Mis being filmed. Looks awesome!

Joshua Archer @Josh_Archer96
@HollyIlling Set & costumes are amazing! They kept doing "Look down look and see the beggars at your feet!" over & over!

Joshua Archer @Josh_Archer96
@eponinesrain Between two buildings was a long alleyway full of waistcoated men in horse & carriages. On one end was a wall that looked like the entrance to a wooden building. On the other side of the alley, outside was a market. That's where filming took place

Holly Illing @HollyIlling
@Josh_Archer96 So they are doing Look Down... WOW!! I bet they got fed up by the time they had finished!

Joshua Archer @Josh_Archer96
@HollyIlling Ha they would keep doing the 1st verse, cutting and doing it again!

Holly Illing @HollyIlling
@Josh_Archer96
Haha, I do love that song though! It better be perfection after all those takes!

i love the fans of Les Mis tweeting about. kinda cute b/c it's no different from your typical geek!

I just saw Anne's new hair....

I want to yell to the sky like Wolverine.

whenever i read this thread title i read it as TOBE Hooper (director of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre)...

I love guys losing their **** over gorgeous women cutting off their hair. Emma Watson, Michelle Williams, now Hathaway.

Hathaway looks amazing with the hair.

Javert's Journal. Growl growl. May 12, 1832. Growl growl. Paris is afraid of me. I have seen her true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

Meeting with Thenardier left bad taste in mouth. A flabby failure who sits whimpering in his inn. Why are so few of us left active, healthy, and without personality disorders? Fantine is a bloated, aging ****e, dying in a Montreuil-sur-Mer poorhouse. Enjolras got his cape stuck in a revolving door where he got gunned down. Only two names remain on my list. They share private quarters at the Petit-Picpus Convent. I shall go to them. I shall go tell the indestructible man that someone plans to murder him."

I don't know why people are freaking out about her hair since it will grow back!

I did wonder if she will sell her teeth - they do have someone listed for "special effects teeth" on the payroll according to IMDB.

It's probably for the Thenardier's if any of the main characters, otherwise probably just atmosphere people.

I kind of wish they would incorporate the Bishop in the finale. He was there originally and was replaced with Eponine (most likely for prettier harmonies). And as far as I know (I haven't read the book, so I may be 100% wrong) Valjean sees the Bishop with Fantine in the book as he dies. Marius asks Jean if he would like a priest to read him his last rights and he essentially says "No thank you, I've already got one".

As previously said, I haven't read the book so I may be WAAAY wrong, but that's what I heard. Maybe someone here has read the book and could correct me if I'm wrong

It wasn't Fantine, it appeared the Bishop was there. His concierge asked if he wanted a priest, and he said "I have one," and pointed to a spot where it seemed he saw someone. The line in the book was "It was probable the bishop was indeed a witness to this death."

Fantine wasn't there, but he tells Cosette her name for the first time - and tells her to remember that name and to fall on her knees whenever she says it for all that Fantine suffered for her and how much she had loved her. He also tells her to forgive the Thenardiers.

It's also worth pointing out that Marius was a jerk in the book until the very end. He sent Valjean away when he learned his identity and he thought Thernardier was the one who saved him from the barricade (he also believed Thernardier had rescused his father at Waterloo - in reality he'd pulled his father out of a ditch so he could steal his watch).

Marius was even about to hand over Cosette's entire fortune in gratitude to Thernardier when he finally learned that it was Valjean who rescued him.

That person's job is to digitally tone-down Hugh Jackman's perfect smile, so it doesn't flash-blind the audience.

Sounds like I was wrong, but not completely. Thank you for informing me.

Wow, Marius in the book sounds like a prick. :wow:

Some of the "****es" (Frances Ruffelle, Julia Worley) have reported that they will be wearing fake teeth/going toothless. And one of the "students" said something about trying to get used to talking with the fake teeth in his mouth.

Meanwhile, interesting tidbits about the church in that video we saw with Hugh:

Village church used to film scenes for Les Miserables

FILM star Hugh Jackman was watched by a crowd of villagers as he filmed scenes for his latest movie in Ewelme.

The village church was transformed to look like one in 19th-century France during the filming of a musical version of Les Misérables last week.

Jackman, who plays Jean Valjean, was among the 200-strong cast and crew at St Mary the Virgin in Parson’s Lane. Director Tom Hooper, who won an Oscar for The King’s Speech, was also spotted by watching residents.

The inside of the church was also used to film scenes. The belfry was converted into a tavern, the porch by the entrance on the south side of the church became a bishop’s lodging and the muniment room was made into a mayor’s office.

Meanwhile, the village playing field became a car park for more than 100 cars and two large trailers. Churchwarden Chips Gell only discovered that the film crew wanted to use the church three weeks ago. Priest-in-charge Jonathan Meyer was originally contacted and the two men sought the sanction of the Diocese of Oxford.

Mr Gell said: “They considered several locations and decided this one suited them best. It seemed they wanted a church that was not surrounded by housing and was genuinely old and looked quite French. The degree of authenticity was mind-blowing. I went into the church and didn’t recognise it.”

He said his wife, Sue, was particularly pleased when Jackman said hello to the crowd.

The film, which is due for release in December, also features Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.

Ewelme has previously been filmed for Eighties TV series Paradise Postponed and ITV’s detective series Midsomer Murders.

I'm fascinated by that elephant.

It's a good thing they made Marius more likeable in the musical, although truthfully I didn't really like him too much initially when I first saw Les Mis.

He was - and stupid, until the end. He wasn't much better when Eponine died, either. After she told him there was a letter from Cosette in her pocket, he was actually anxious for her to hurry up and die already so that he could read it.

In fairness, Eponine had been hiding the letter from him - she wanted him to think that Cosette had already left the country (the letter was letting him know they'd just moved to another part of the city) so that he'd run off to the barricade. Eponine had planned to follow him there, thinking they'd both be killed and then they would be together without Cosette.

But still...she was dying, he could have kept his hormones in check for another few minutes.

Afterwards, Marius sent Gavroche with the letter that Valjean ultimately intercepts, hoping that would keep Gavroche away from the barricade and safe. Which obviously didn't work.
