Have to think he was put up vs ramin karimloo so hes going to look like he shouldnt be there, but he still did a pretty good job. sometimes he looked pretty lost, but other times he was solid.

He's not terrible (he's going to be taking over Daniel Radcliffe's How to Succeed role on Broadway next year), I think he was just really young was outsung by everyone else on stage.

He was Gavroche in the Broadway production of Les Miz, he's listed in my Playbill as "Nicholas Jonas" (although, according to my ticket stub date, he wasn't on the night I saw it). He also appeared in Beauty & the Beast and Annie Get Your Gun, so he's a longtime Broadway kid.

Yeah, he was definitely outsung almost all the time, though I do like his "empty chairs at empty tables" I view it as he was a kid who could sing and was tossed into pop singing and that's where his vocals and mindset remained. I do hope he does well with how to succeed though.

2013?? What happened to December?

I saw him very briefly as Gellart Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this weekend too.

It's funny how we get this notice, and IMDB has Jonathan Groff listed as Enjolras, but Eddie Redmayne as Marius with "rumored" next to his name.

I think they will do whatever it takes to release this by end of 2012. Just in time for the Holidays and Oscar season.

Groff's name has now been removed at IMDB and "rumored" removed from ER's name.

Jonathan Groff would have made a good Enjolras. I loved him in Spring Awakening.

This is really exciting. I freaking LOVE when they make movies out of stage musicals.

And if you haven't seen the 98 version with Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush, please go watch. It's soooo awesome.

I read on the IMDB MB from someone who sounded like they knew what they were talking about that Lea Michele wasn't being considered/was dismissed early (unless she just came in/was called back). That person also reported about ERW who apparently was offered the role, turned it down, they went back to her since she gave a fabulous audition, and if she turned it down again they were going to Swift. I tend to believe all that since it was posted before any of it came out online.

I actually had thought recently about ScarJo, because I knew she could sing and she's already been in two movies with Hugh (The Prestige and Scoop).

Taylor Swift, Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood are all in the running for the highly coveted role of Eponine in Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper’s big-screen version of “Les Misérables,” sources tell us. A source close to the film confirmed that the four actors have all auditioned for the role. Another said that Michele “knocked it out of the park” when the “Glee” star — who played Young Cosette in the Broadway show — recently performed for the “King’s Speech” director. But it will be a tough choice because each star has her own magic ingredient for the musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel. “Scarlett brings acting ability, and she can really sing,” said the source. “Evan Rachel Wood brings her indie cred.” And casting Swift would mark a major move over to Hollywood films for the pop star. The Working Title and Universal movie is already stocked with stars, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne and Geoffrey Rush.

Is the 98 version also based on the Broadway musical, or just the novel?

They's assembled quite a great group of young actresses for the great role of Eponine, and I guess it depends if they want great vocal, great acting, or a mixture of the two. Swift is a singer, while Evan is an actress, but both ScarJo and Michele are not just actors and can both sing. I think ScarJo is terrific but she might be a bit too pretty to play Eponine, so I think Michele is probably the best one of the four candidates.

Despite being the "singer" out of the 4 choices, Swift is the one that can't sing to save her life. Anyone but her.
