TOMB RAIDER being Re-booted!

As long as it doesn't conflict with her Star Wars schedule, I doubt Disney can stop her from taking any job.

It depends if there is a non compete clause which there may be. Disney had the leverage in the negotiations. And since Disney put Daisy on the map and she is their biggest investment in this trilogy they arent going to let her go off and make a tomb raider film that would require extensive training, traveling, and potentially risky scenes.

Im sure Daisy could fit in a small film or two, but nothing the size of a tomb raider film.

And before anyone brings up JLaw, that was pretty much a fluke for her and it required Fox to delay DOFP due to scheduling conflicts. Disney isnt going to delay any star wars film so Daisy can make another film. They wont even allow a potential situation like that to arise so Im sure her contract keeps a tight leash on her. Once she is up for renogiations after Episode 9 she'll have more leverage, but until then its unlikely she's going to be doing any large films besides star wars.

And thank goodness for that. She's pretty much the female Indiana Jones, except for the blatant fanservice. As for Ridley, Disney cannot stop the Marvel actors from taking on outside projects (as long as they stay available for future Marvel commitments). Nor can Fox stop the X-Men actors from doing the same (Hence why Michael Fassbender is doing Assassin's Creed right now). So I doubt that SW is any different.

whats interesting with JP is that she first signed on Xmen movies. she had a contract. after that she got big with Hunger Games. Fox needed JL because her name got so big that they could user her in DOFP to make more money. so it was in Fox's interest.

the story was a little compromised in DOFP because of JL . and IMO will be destroyed in apocalypse because of JL. when you end DOFP the way they did ....there is no way mystique would be half the movie disguised as a blond woman and not in her true form.

it is different. Disney is making every 2 years a new SW movie. the movies are connected like TV episodes which means that they need the actors in the middle of the year for reshoots or for scenes for future movies. Disney can tell Ridley that they give her time for filming but dont alow her to promote the movie worldwide because they need her for SW. you think the studio would hire the main character from SW for Tom Rider and not use her for promotion?

I just don't think that they're going to do that. Their track record doesn't support that notion. Nor do I believe that she signed a no-compete clause.

Oh and DOFP's story was in no way "compromised." At least not by that.

There is no such a thing as a non compete clause that allows you not to take any other action adventure movies even if they are nothing like Star Wars and don't interfere with the Star Wars schedule. If that were the case Fox could have stopped Jennifer Lawrence from playing in The Hunger Games. And yes I am using Lawrence because her situation is similar.

Loki, X-Men fans have this fantasy that Lawrence is ruining the X-Men films because, like male actors that have had less success than her, she demands certain things. Nobody would be complaining about her demands if she had a penis. Tom Hardy can be a violent thug who treats reporters like crap and people will stand by him but god forbid Lawrence exerts her power.

RDJ is doing it the same with all marvel movies.

Sweet lawd.

I remember her from Californication.

She still looks great on Grey's Anatomy. :ilv:

I'd be all for Daisy as a young Lara, I just have a feeling she'll only have time for smaller movies outside of Star Wars for a while. Seeing Lily James with dark hair lately has gotten me thinking she might make a decent Lara as well.

J-law ruining X-Men is bull****. She's one of three that added an air of legitimacy to the franchise. I bet it was Fox's idea to promote her so much given her huge rise in popularity at that time. Anyway, Daisy would be badass

Lily James? Hmm, I didn't think of her but I think you might be on to something.

As well he should. He is worth every penny that Marvel pays him because people love his version of Iron Man. Now if Chris Hemsworth, whom I do like quite a bit, were asking for RDJ money I'd roll my eyes because the guy hasn't had one real hit outside of Thor. Snow White and the Huntsman was mostly costing off of Twilight fumes and a great ad campaign.

This is the first I've heard she is "ruining" the movies. I have no idea where that sentiment started or who can possibly think that's a valid claim. I like her and the X-Men movies and have not seen her doing anything ruinous in them. Is that some kind of MRA thing? Sounds like the kind of thing they'd say. They are as bad as SJW's who have to whine over every percieved slight.

i dont have a problem when actors have demands. i have a problem when studios change the movie for actors that would not lose them money. there was a way ot have JL in the new xmen movie without insulting out intelligence. what they did with mystique is stupid.

No it's not a fluke. RDJ had Iron Man, The Avengers, plus all the cameos within the MCU along with being in the Sherlock Holmes franchise, and then ontop of that starring in other movies .i.e, The Judge, etc. It's about scheduling. Contract or not, a studio cannot prevent an actor/actress from taking on another big franchises. The only pull they have in that department would be scheduling. Hell, even Adam Driver said he filmed Girls simutaneously while shooting TFA. He would fly out and shoot Girls for one week, then shoot scenes for SW the next week, and went back and forth for months. I know it's a smaller example than the RDJ and JLaw one but alot of actors juggle multiple projects at one time; it's just not always spoken about.

If you can call these irregular working schuedules 'flukes', then there's no reason Ridley can't be a fluke too with Tomb Raider.

i remember a similar story with Blunt and Black Widow. wasnt there a problem with a FOX contract?

I thought that was more to do with scheduling concerns than contract issues? I could be wrong.

She had one more film left on her FOX contract and they made that option valid once marvel came knocking.

so when marvel wanted her for black widow FOX decided that she has to do a movie for them and they picked a movie that would film at the same time like Iron Man 2?

i dont think that Daisy has a line in her contract that forbids her from filming other movies. Disney IMO for the next 4 years will not allow her to be part of another big franchise.

I can see them forbiding her, maybe not legally, more so sternly advising her not to star in any films that might hurt the public's perception of Rey i.e a film like Nymphomanics, Boogie Nights, etc as she is now obviously their poster girl and want to keep her image as clean and family friendly as possible…

I'd think Disney would want Daisy to be part of another successful franchise, I figure it would make her more of a draw for their films now that they don't have the element of being the return of Star Wars now.

I would love for her to be the new lara it might be the only thing that would get me to see the movie lol.

JLaw was able to do X-Men and Hunger Games plus a slew of other films, she could totally do Tomb Raider/Star Wars, they would just have to work the scheduling out.

Exactly. This contract talk is humbug.

No, no, X-fans just be crazy. And cannot let go of Rebecca Romijn.

If they want more of her that can watch The Librarians.
