Iron Man Tons of positive early screening Iron Man reviews

One thing, though, is one has to be careful with early reviews. They always tend to be the most positive ones on a movie, the early reviews on X3 for instance were making it look pretty good. But this so far doesn´t seem to have the worrying signs that were coming from that movie, such as short screentime being short, etc.

I agree, but this looks so much better than X3.

I doubt the Fury cameo has been cut entirely; it has probably just been removed for the early screenings, so as to keep it as a surprise for move-goers on May 2nd. WB did a similar thing with Batman Begins, where they removed the scene with Gordon and the Joker card from the ending for the early screenings, but put it back it in for the final cut.

Plus, didn't Downey Jr. hint that the scene was added to during/after the credits?

Sounds excellent so far, bit disappointed they spoiled all the action scenes for us... Hate that kind of marketing.

And I hope the cameos are reintegrated.

Kind of dissapointing that the movie lacks a 'real' score.

Kind of looking forward to this movie. Favreau seems to have done a great job, starting with his amazing cast.

I know loads of times the reviews are raving about a film which turns out to be pretty bad but I doubt this is the case here too.

Not long now....

I hope they will have real score for this movie, not a rock soundtrack like Daredevil.

I think Marvel cheaped out and didn't think it was important... they'll learn from their mistakes... if Hulk doesn't have a soundtrack their will be hell to pay... I'll give Iron Man a pass... this time.

First mention I've seen in a mainstream UK newspaper article, on its sci-fi blog that was launched last month. Mentions a lack of UK marketing for the movie though.

Marvel say Iron Man is their only major character who hasn't yet featured in a live-action movie. Although he's been in a cartoon series and an animated movie, he does seem to have slipped through the net of public consciousness. But, amazingly, the character does seem to have influenced pop culture:
What, Captain America's chop liver?

The only thing I dont like is that we've seen most of the cool action sequences during the trailers.

I don't think we've seen all there is too see, I think we've just seen the basic idea behind the action scenes. At least...I hope so.

What, Captain America's chop liver?

Captain America had a movie. It was terrible, but he had one. It was called CAPTAIN AMERICA, and he wore plastic ears.

Something almost every reviewer is mentioning is that Terrance Howard is "soft" as James Rhodes. That shouldn't be, should it? Is that some kind of intentional character beginning so that when he becomes War Machine his character undergoes some actual development?

Yup, while that sneak peek that showed the aerial fight with the two raptors did show quite a bit there is a damn good amount we haven't seen from all the sneak peaks so far.
If his escape from the cave is as long and waste as it was in the book...you'll be loving it

Yeah, he's not much of a hardass in the film. The most I noticed out of him in the book was when he gives Stark s*** here and there for being pompous.

From the clips I've seen that have Terrence speaking, I find his voice sort of high pitched and kind of irritating.

These two quotes are what made me more excited than ever about this film:

"I would also like to comment on the CG. I'm really picky about CG and I find it too often to look way too fake even though we have come as far as we have with it. But no worries, they have really been clever, it's flawless.."

And

"The special effects are probably among the best to date in any movie."

This movie is gonna rock.

Yeah, I'm not one for early reviews but these quotes are very encouraging and confirm what I've seen from the trailers.

What, Captain America's chop liver?

As was mentioned before Cap already had a TV movie as well as serials from the 1940's. I'm suprised you didn't mention Thor either, but he's been in live action as well(the Hulk TV movie from the 1980's).

I'm loving these reviews, BTW.

Which, strangely, was the best thing about Daredevil. It has one of my favorite Chevelle and Seether songs on there.

Thor is being made into a film, though. I don't believe Vaughn left, actually.

And I apologize for not knowing about Captain America.

Very positive reviews... nice. But in one I read that IM is under 2 hours long. But our czech distributor says that Iron Man is 125 min long. Do you know what is true?

Haha, good point. The same with Superman Returns. I remember one really early review that said SR was on par with The Godfather as one of the greatest films of all time. :ikyn

LMAO, I remember that and certain members of this site went along with it. Glad to see IM is getting good reviews, but we have all been here before and should take things with a pinch of salt

Nice and what I expected. Origin story and cool fight scenes and SFX.

I expect the real drama and suspense will come with the sequel for the "Demon in the Bottle" storyline.

I'm sure the movie will be great. I think this movie is the box office dark horse this summer or maybe the year for that matter.

I just wish I didn't spoil myself early and watch all the clips and footage released. I hope things in the movie still hit me as a surprise.
