As previously reported, the anti-hero thriller Wanted has moved from the crowded March 28th date to June 27th 2008 to face Valkyrie and Wall-E.

Strangely, Universal now has their three main tentpoles, which all happen to be comic book movies, with two weeks of the other: The Incredible Hulk comes out two weeks on June 13th before Wanted and Hellboy II: The Golden Army will come out two weeks later on July 11th.

So between June 13th and July 18th, there will now be five superhero blockbusters, since Hancock and The Dark Knight will come out during that period too.

made a thread about this five years ago

it seems people never thought we could get to a time when there's too many comic book movies

although, is "Wanted" based on that comic book?

of all those movies coming out during that time, I think I will only see TDK and TIH in the theaters. The others, I'll wait for the dvd.

Ummm, no. You can never have TOO many comic book movies. Even suggesting it should be a criminal offense punishable by stoning...

Hancock is a Will Smith movie so it doesn't count IMHO. I'm probably going to see it because I'm a huge fan. I think it's more of a star vehicle.

What I will see...

TDK: Without a doubt...the very first showing that morning

TIH: Absolutely... the night it opens

HB2: Sure... the weekend it opens

Hancock: whenever I get around to it

Wanted: it looked dumb. dvd.

You can never have to many superhero films :woot: I love them.

I will be watching IM, TIH, Wanted, HB2, TDK, and Punisher: War Zone, TDK is my #1 film of 2008, I can't wait to see it, as long as the superhero films are good quality like SM 1&2, X-Men 1&2, and BB, Hollywood can keep on making them IMHO.

The only ones I give a damn about are "The Dark Knight" and "The Incredible Hulk". And frankly, I think those are the only ones that are going to be blockbusters. I'll see "Wanted", but it may be a sleeper hit, but I think "Hancock" will end up as another "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and the general public doesn't give much of a damn about "Hellboy II", even though I plan on seeing that as well.

Iron man comes out in may. only movies i 'm looking forwd to is the dark night and iron man. I might go see hellboy. i like the first movie a lot. i might wait unitl i see previews before i go. I also want to see the new incdabile hulk. this summer is going to be awesome:)

MY only problem is that they all come out in the summer. One at christmas time would be great!

It's become sort of a tradition to release superhero movies in the summer. It's been this way since "Superman II".

Yes you honestly can when it milks the genre, and ultimately hurts box office for all Super Hero movies.

Remember the summer of '97? "Batman and Robin" and "Steel". That's two superhero movies TOO many.

yea wanted did look stupid... and common wasnt even in the trailer, guaranteed it gets dumber when he enters the screen...

I would prefer fewer BUT better comic book movies. Less Ghost Rider and Fantastic Four, more Batman Begins.

I am looking forward to TDK, and I think it will be the best comic book movie after Superman the Movie and or tied with Batman Begins. I think Iron Man looks good too, and I think there will be passion in maintaining the source, but I am not a fan of Downey Jr and am disappointed with the rumor of a short running time.

TDK will win

there can never be enough superhero movies.

but i believe that honestly...the way the world has been lately (ie: terrorism, and the war in iraq)
people want to see a superhero to give them hope.

but that's just me

I guess it could hurt, ppl will get a little tired of the genre. I would like them to spread it out over the year, but thats not logical in their line of thinking.
