No love for Super, huh? A lot of people didn't care for that movie, but I really enjoyed it. The end was a little weak; seemed like he didn't know how to wrap it up. But I thought everything up to the end was great.

I never made it to the end actually.

I usually enjoy the 'real life superhero' premise. I loved Kick Ass, I loved Special (2006 film with Michael Rappaport), I loved Defendor and Griff the Invisible.

But this was just so poor in comparison.

1. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
2. Beginners
3. Contagion
4. Melancholia
5. Hugo
6. Shame
7. The Tree of Life
8. 13 Assassins

still need to see a lot.

To each his or her own. I think the real-life superhero genre is a tough nut to crack but I liked what they did with it. But then, I tend to like just about anything with Ellen Page or Kevin Bacon.

1. Rise of the planet of the apes
2. Sherlock holmes game of shadows
3. Warrior
4. Thor
5. Xmen first class
6. Harry potter deathly hallows part 2
7. Footlosse
8. Captain America

That's exactly how I feel about Super.

I only finished watched up until Ellen Page got killed. I enjoyed her scenes the most.

As for the rest of the movie, not as much.

1. Drive

4. Moneyball
5. Fast Five

Um, you might want to put spoiler tags around part of your post...

Still subject to change:

1. Midnight in Paris
2. The Descendants
3. Moneyball
4. Bridesmaids
5. X-Men: First Class
6. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (would probably be higher if I had not seen the Swedish film first)
7. War Horse
8. Contagion
9. Drive
10. Hugo

I still need to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; The Artist; and A Dangerous Method before I can have a definitive list.

I haven't seen enough films this year to rank ten, because of personal difficulties, but, y'know, maybe I wouldn't want to list them anyway.
Next year will probably be much the same, not seeing many movies, but the year after that, I should be in full recovery and will catch a lot of films.
Whether I live in the states, the uk, or anywhere else, makes no difference to me, one boss is as bad as the other, and they won't be my boss anyway, I have the power, yes, I am Hee Hee Man.

A very disappointing year for movies in my opinion. Was not impressed or surprised by many at all.

My favourite film was Drive, and the most surprising film was Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Warrior was pretty good as well.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but I don't think you can just write off an entire year of movies. While I'm sure some years are better than others, it's just my opinion that if you can't find 10 movies you liked in a given year, you're probably just not seeking out the right films.

Well one problem is that Australia has been having delayed releases this year.

For example, Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy is not being released here until January. I've been wanting to see this for a while and now I have to wait until it enters my 2012 rankings, which is a shame. Sherlock Holmes 2 isn't out until next week either.

Another thing is that the majority of films I've seen this year have been disappointing (Captain America, Green Lantern, Transformers 3 etc).

Although X-Men: First Class was fantastic If I may add (besides continuity issues) :)

I really need to sit down and sort out a top 10 list :p

1.Drive
2.MI4
3.Super8
4.Sherlock Holmes 2
5.Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows pt. 2
6.Thor
7.Insidious
8.Bridesmaids
9.Horrible Bosses
10.Paranormal Activity 3

I've seen several new favorites lately, so my list is FINALLY doing some major reshuffling.

1. Drive
2. Warrior
3. The Artist
4. Hugo
5. The Tree of Life
6. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
7. Midnight in Paris
8. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
9. The Skin I Live In
10. Shame

Honorable Mentions: Bridesmaids, X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The First Avenger, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Moneyball, 13 Assassins, The Muppets, The Descendants, 50/50, Take Shelter, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, My Week With Marilyn
