Top 10 films of 2013

Whattt? Into darkness was my favourite, IM3 was just as bad as Die Hard IMO

Iron Man 3 was embarrassing.

I loved the new Star Trek. Thought it beat the first one by a long shot.

Pacific Rim was the latest movie I saw. It will probably enter my top 10 by the end of the year. I didn't love it, it was nothing special but I enjoyed it as a fun popcorn movie. Great action and Idris Elba owns all humans and monsters.

So far on the whole I'd say 2013's big hitters have been disappointing for me. Star Trek mainly, Iron Man 3 may be in my most loathed films list of all time, not worst, loathed (it's different ). Pacific Rim was good but I was surprised with how cheesy and at points, poorly written it was. Man of Steel and World War Z are really the only films I've really enjoyed watching this year.

The first time I saw Pacific Rim, I didn't rate it high enough to make my top 10. But now having seen it again, I've appreciated it on a technical level a little more, and that gave it enough of a boost to squeak in.
