Based off of current books and creative teams
1. Wonder Woman - Anyone who complains about how long Azzarello's arc is taking or complains about the art is speaking pure blasphemy and deserve to be dragged to the depths of comic book hell. This book has been consistently amazing that perfectly blends Wonder Woman's more warrior-esque attributes while keeping her kind, gentle, forgiving, and honest personality intact. I'll be staying on for Meredith and David Finch and I think that they have a lot of intriguing aspects to bring to the table like bringing Wonder Woman more in line with the DC Universe, shorter arcs, etc, but I do think that the quality will dip to where it won't be in the top 5 anymore for me.
2. Aquaman - Jeff Parker has been the perfect replacement for Geoff Johns. Honestly it feels like Johns never left.
3. Batman - I do feel that Zero Year dragged on for way too long, but overall, Scott Snyder's run on Batman has been great. My only true complaint is how the book feels like it is in a perpetual event.
4. Superman - Geoff Johns taking over the book has been a much needed breath of fresh air for the title which previously felt like it existed solely for the sake of existing. John Romita Jr.'s art is also surprisingly working for me on this book considering that his more recent work at Marvel (Avengers, Captain America, Avengers vs. X-Men, Kick-Ass) have been duds.
5. Swamp Thing - Rotworld made Swamp Thing feel like it went off course, luckily Charles Soule has done a great job in putting the book back on track. Shame it's going to get cancelled eventually.
Honorable Mentions
- Green Arrow - Jeff Lemire has revitalized this book the same way that Johns has revitalized Superman.
- Batman & Robin - A few arcs were misses, but the characterization that Peter Tomasi has put forth in the book are top notch and Patrick Gleason is the best Bat artist currently right now, totally underrated.
- Detective Comics - I'll buy anything with Francis Manapul doing the art. ANYTHING!
The Gone but Not Forgotten
- Animal Man - Lemire's Animal Man was better than Snyder's Swamp Thing IMO
- I, Vampire - **** you people for not giving this amazing book a chance.
- Demon Knights - See above
- Batwoman - Technically this book wasn't cancelled, but Hayden Blackman, J.H. Williams III, and Amy Reeders' Batwoman was such a great visual book. Shame DC did everything in their power to drive all three of them away. And some behind the scenes stuff about this book I heard about from a friend kinda dropped my enjoyment of the book.
- Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. - See I, Vampire. Basically, because you people don't enjoy good comics, you people kinda make me not want to live on this planet anymore.
