I love that little fight scene with Colin kicking ass, looked great.

Wait, just read the wikipedia synopsis, it doesn't sound like Mars is a part of this one.

Nope, no Mars. I really wanted to see the advancements in technology, cgi and sfx made on a 3-breasted woman. :o

Yeah they're changing quite a bit from the original short story. Not that I mind because the first Total Recall for me personally was a great adaptation of Dick's short story.

Thats probably a good thing changing it from Mars. Not very many movies out there based on Mars are successful.

Except for the first Total Recall but yeah you're right.

The 30 second teaser does hint at space travel though but to what capacity is a bit of a mystery I think.

But are audiences really that adverse to a setting on Mars? It could all just be other circumstances with Mars being the commonality.

Yes and no.

It depends on how Mars is depicted and if the concept overall seems well executed. The first Total Recall sold it well and didn't make all that big of a deal that a lot of the plot centered itself on Mars.

The only movie to really sell it well without being afraid to embrace its material.

So I'm guessing the studio wanted it pull since its off the SHH front page.

i thought this movie comes out in november. but august? and no trailer?

this will flop because its not promoted. like every movie that is on mars.

Except the first Total Recall. Which did great at the box office.

Then again that could have been mainly for Arnie and I doubt Ferrel has anywhere near that amount of BO pull.

This movie as of now comes out the same week as Bourne Legacy, nearly the same target audience. Wouldn't surprise me if they decide to move it.

Well, John Carter took out the title of "from Mars" and imo it would've been better in terms of marketing if they had kept it in. I do wonder how the changing of the setting away from Mars will affect the ending we saw in the original Total Recall, but perhaps they just create a new one in its place.

Kind of hard to judge based on such brief footage, but the tone definitely isn't as "fun" as the original which was one of it's best attributes.

Ah i'm still in the belief taking the Of Mars away has nothing to do with the bad marketing and the movie would have done the exact same with it. Honestly first off he isn't of Mars, he's of Earth. They address that in the movie. I don't think people stay away from movies because they're on Mars, I just think its funny that most movies that take place on Mars usually flop. This movie eh it could really take place anywhere and it'll be fine, I wasn't a huge fan of the first one though I don't think its a bad movie. Colin is without a doubt a waay better actor than Arnold could ever dream of being so I hope this is good.

But I'm 100% sure that they won't top this.

Bapi I love that commentary and I agree nothing will ever surpass it but you may want to edit the link out. It has some stuff you can get in trouble for.

Except this movie isn't on Mars. There is plenty of time to promote this film between now and November.
