'Total Recall' ready for revival

And Ridley Scott already did a futuristic city with little CGI (as far as I can remember) with Blade Runner.

lol. They could do it like Blade Runner. That future LA still looks amazing. Practical miniature city, but with CGI to make it look even better.

There is nothing wrong with CGI. But i think 9 times out of 10, a CGI background/landscape/environment will always look fake and lacking in depth, no matter how well done.

Eh, big fan of the original but there was always an oppurtunity to make something better out of the story, the trailer had some nice visuals and moments but to me it just looked like a futuristic Bourne movie. The way he took out the cops at Recall looked very Bourne-movie like to me.

Ok since you have unchained the ***** mode I will activate my ******* mode as I've had a bad day. Verhoeven is a ****ing average gore hound director who's best movie was actually a Dutch film called Black Book. He relies on cheap gore and crass imagery to get his shtick over. Robocop is a classic from a script perspective because it's a great satire, he covers up for his lack of creativity by slapping a **** load of gore on top that gives hard ons to boys still wishing it was the 80's "Cause cussing a blood is kewl dood". Total Recall of the 90's is a solid action movie with over the top gore and dreadful acting by all but Michael Ironside. I'd take Wiseman's Die Hard movie over it any day of the week, and this looks way better than that Total Recall IMO.

In total recall that accent was a lot less 'well spoken' and more normal British.
There's a difference. Like my English accent is not like the queens English.

I think you're making a bigger deal out of the accent then you need to. They probably just had her switch accents in order to provide even more shock factor with her character. Kind of like, "WHOA! My wife is trying to kill me! And... she's British now?!"

I guess they could have had her use the English accent when she's "good" and the American accent when she's evil, but it doesn't really matter, does it? It will be interesting to see if Quaid's real personality has an accent. It would be funny if he was Austrian.

i think it matters and its a big deal . because its the stupid cliche that you need to have an english accent to be a villain in a hollywood blockbuster. yes it would be nice if they switched the accents.

There are plenty of villains in Hollywood movies that speak with American accents. And there are plenty of heroes with English accents (off the top of my head, Noomi's character in the upcoming Prometheus, Jason Statham in everything, James Bond, Henry Cavill in Immortals, etc.).
