'Total Recall' ready for revival

This looks better than I thought it'd be. I might have to see this in theaters.

This surprised me. I don't know who's working on the effects or who was the lead concept designer, but this futuristic setting is very convincing not only from a technical perspective, but in looking like a viable urban environment. Too many times these backgrounds look so empty and sterile. The detail they've packed in the cityscapes is astounding.


Colin's delivery is far better than Arnold's. He was a popular 80s action hero which was the only reason he got that movie. If you're in any way a fan of Dick's stories, you know how complex and complicated his characters can be in spite of the abrupt and condensed narratives. Nuance is imperative with this particular character (assuming they go with the history in the original story). Colin has the talent to pull it off given that he's provided meaty material. Fingers crossed here.


What in particular? All the major beats are present.

Just gotta say I agree with this 100% Fingers are crossed with me as well.

It feels like a mix of Blade Runner with it's urban feel and Minority Report, with a mix of its own uniqueness.

This looks awesome, I love the tactile feel of the future world, Farrell looks great in the lead and the action looks awesome, that opening sequence with Quaid taking out those armoured guards was brilliant! Not sure about Beckinsale's accent choice though lol.

This idéa at first felt like yet another unnecessary remake of a classic. However, the trailer made me curious as it looks quite good. And Biel and Beckinsale in the same movie? Damn..!

Well, We'll have to wait and see if this delivers.

It sounds kind of Irish.

Same for me. The future world Wiseman has created has clear influences but feels like a very tactile mix of gritty futurism and sleek style, great contrast.

It's a short story a quick read, but yes I love Dick's work, so I would recommend it.

That was a great trailer. Yes, there is some typical Hollywood stuff in there, but it's great how, even with having elements similar to stuff from other films (someone mentioned Minority Report and Blade Runner), it still feels fresh. The camera shifting around from one position to the another as Quaid killed those cops in the Rekall building made my jaw drop, and it looks like it was done all in one take, too. I've never seen anything like that before.

With Prometheus coming out in a couple months, this looks like a great summer for sci-fi films.

Beckinsale's accent in the trailer is Irish... Someone on twitter told me before I even saw the trailer. Mmmm so tasty... I mean...both Beckinsale and the Biel...two of my fave actresses...I mean...what more can I ask for? Now just add the Garner, Jaimie Alexander and Liv Tyler to the mix... mmm lol.

You have to have Quicktime Pro to DL directly onto your Hard drive. But I found it on Dave's Trailer page.

Is Sony making this???? At all of my nearest theaters, they have in bold print that no coupons, passes, free tickets, points from credit cards, etc, can be used for the upcoming Spider-Man.
