Toyfair Hasbro Staff spills... [SPOILER]

During Toyfair, I represented my company to take some photos for personal retail uses. No - there was no Wolverine movie figures, so what am I babbling about?

We're a "pretty big" toy company, and we had two Hasbro Staff guiding us through our "tour"... During the Marvel Section, we asked if they knew anything else about the Marvel line apart from what was shown (And they were great items shown. If you haven't seen it, pop over to a fansite and have a look). I was told several things about Iron Man, Hulk and the general Marvel Line. But what I was surprised to be told was - details about the Wolverine line in 09! And I would have thought they wouldn't have had the lined planned - with the production JUST begginning - The following is the EXACT talk on the Wolverine Line only.

HR(Hasbro Representatives) : And yeah, we also have a line for the upcoming Wolverine Movie. It's slated to release around April, but with such a long time gap, I'm guessing there'll be some changes.

ME (Well, Me... ) : Do you know any specifics on this line? Will it be Marvel Legends scale? Or slightly larger like the Spiderman and Fantastic Four Movie Figures?

HR : They are going to fit into a "movie selection" (I'm presuming - bigger).

ME : Do you have any idea on which characters are planned to make a debut? or even anything on the movie itself?

HR : Sorry, we are not in the position to transfer any spoiler information, but we CAN give out some of our line's characters. Obviously, we have Wolverine - the Star character, and the co-stars, Sabertooth, Silver Fox and the Silver Samurai. We're also going to make figures of Gambit, Toad, The Blob, Stryker and Psylocke.

ME : Do you know anything else about this line?

HR : There isn't much that we ARE in the position to disclose, except that these figures are slated to hit around April next year - and that they are looking at the ML prices. However, with the world changing ever so fast, things might change - Afterall, we still do have one whole year to go.

Well, there it is. Two spoiler Characters - Silver Samurai eh? Whos playing that? Well, I guess we're 5 months away from Comic Con for more information. But I guess we now have a definitive list of Characters? And for those interested in the other Marvel Line informations or other Hasbro lines - You may PM me, and I'll try to post you the infos. I don't want this thread to become spoiler.

I haven't been on for a line time due to my personal life - but that does not change my contributions - Have a nice discussion.

i see him being somewhere in the middle of wolvie's origin and lady deathstrike's...

I wouldn't want to see deadpool in the first wolverine movie, a mention or a very very small part at best. Having Deadpool in the first flick would not do his character justice I would rather he be in a sequel as the main baddie with a good amount of screen time.

Very True, but I would imagine the things they plan FIRST would usually be movie figures (based on past experience). If they stick to this list (Which I have a feeling - it will change slightly after a year) - we will see some cool stuff with the movie.

Also, note that I was told by a Hasbro Staff - And most of the times, they aren't known for knowing their facts - So that might change a few things...

I hope the Silver Samurai plays out - he is one of the great Asian Mutants in the Marval Universe.

The guy also said Silver Samurai is a co-star. So unless he was mistaken, that would mean SS is in the movie.

With a part of the film being set in Japan, it would make perfect sense for Silver Samurai to appear.

Also back when they first announced Blob in 2007, they also announced Silver Samurai being in the film. We know Blob is in it, so why not the other?

i just hope and more and more of the abundance of characters seems to suggest this.. as locals.. but i really hope this movie isn't "just wolvies past" but several eras of it...

i'd also like some post X3 stuff too which is where i'd love for him to run into gambit.

We have no confirmation about Origin, but there was a rumor that Australian actor Aaron Jeffery was cast as Dog Logan.

The film is not going to end right before X1, and will probably end up years before it. Gavin Hood has already talked about the possibility of Wolverine II and its setting in Japan since they're introducing Japan in this one.

We're not getting anything post X3, but that would be great to see.

well ideally i'd love for it to open post X3.. with Logan in a bar or something...

i just really want characters to make sense is all if toads in it he cant be that young... and toads not a old character, and i'd prefer gambit to be in X3 time, the not more then a few years older... it'd suck to have a young gambit in the 50's or something which would make it so if a post X3 movie ever happened gambit would be way too old

Gambit's scenes in Wolverine take place 17 years before X3 (1986).

Taylor Kitsch is 26, and will simply play a Gambit in his late 30s in X4.

kitch plays a highschooler on tv so willing to bet gambit will be late teens early 20's if anything..

but i highly doubt this wolverine movie will all take place at the same time, either way

That's not what the original poster said. Just that these toys are being developed, and the reason for that could be because those characters might be in the movie.
