Tracking Thor's return

weeelll, it might and Might not.
You have this mysterious "D.B." going to Oklahoma in FF and no telling how long they'll drag that out.
Plus, ONE of the FF are supposed to die soon, and many people think that this new Thor is going to return and hang out with the FF for awhile, since Asgard is destroyed.
I just hope they keep the stories they start in each book in those books and don't jump from title to title, cuz I won't by all the issues.

Think about it, I've heard from a couple of sources, that this new Thor won't know how to use all his ability's (since the end of Ragnarok), who other than Reed could help him test his limits (if there are any)?
Sure there'd be 2 power houses on the team for awhile, but, hey I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Rumors still tho, don't take EVERYTHING you hear as fact, I don't, I just pass along what I hear.

The problem with that theory is that Thor's powers are all magical in nature, especially the new ones he picked up in the "Ragnarok" arc. Reed's shown that he has absolutely no idea how to deal with magic because his scientific ego won't allow him to acknowledge that there are unquantifiable things in the universe. He looks at magic as a science that hasn't been deciphered yet.

Also, there'd be two powerhouses and the FF's powerhouse would become redundant. Why would you need the Thing when you've got the much stronger, much more versatile Thor around?

Anyway, I wouldn't really mind seeing Thor on the FF, it'd just seem weird to me.

I hope when Thor returns that NONE of this he doesn't know how to use powers or the Millar idea happens!! Thor SHOULD return exactly the SAME as he left except with possesion of his eyes of cource:)

I'm with you Herakles, and yeah I dont see how Reed could help 'the new thor' learn anything about his powers beyond the obvious

and dont take this the wrong way Vartha, but I hope your information proves to be innacurate

Also wouldn't Dr Strange be a better candidate to teach Thor how to use his "MAGIC" based powers again????

Like I said I'm just passing along what I hear. I don't take any of it as fact like I said.
I'd kind of like to see Thor get some kind of "magik" training myself if he has a portiton of Rune power left, but, I'd like to see BRB and Herc help Thor if he doesn't remember how to use his powers. I mean Strange would ok for magik, but, not for the physical stuff.

I agree. I just want to have Thor return and get his own series so, I can start collecting it.:)

AT this point I wouldn't care if Thor were back in ANY book as long as he's back

I mean out of all the Thor story's the ONE that sticks out the most in my mind is the Arch in Vol 1 with the Eye of Odin telling the origin of Odin and the Asgardians, now even with the Ragnarok cycle stopped, Asgard itself should still be reborn if you ask me.

Not this time around Majin. put it this way, with Doom escaping Hell, I would be a bit surprised if Marvel uses that to say other Characters escaped death as well.

Yeah I think its safe to say he's not dead

Heck didnt he say that he was "taking a rest" or something

(I havent acctually read Ragnarok and cant find a copy of it anywhere, but Corp gave me a pretty good rundown so I know what's up)

As for Thor, I really hope its don blake, I really hope he gets the hammer, turns to Thor and knows what he's doing

I could do without Asgard for awhile though. Make it so Thor is the last asgardian

It seemed that he was resting; as if he went into a prolonged Odinsleep

I think I remember a character returning in Civil War #4 in a '.flash of lightning''.

Well Doom kinda released lightning when he tryied to pick up Mjolnir too.

I think the energy release that Doom triggered when he touched Mjolnir might've woken Thor up. Remember, he wasn't quite dead at the end of "Ragnarok," he was "sleeping."

Its been available for awhile but good luck finding it. I cant get my hands on a copy no matter where I look

cant find Spiral either:(

Just received The Reigning as a gift though :)

Yeah that is what it seems like.

Here's a thought, could it be that Thor went to "sleep" inside Mjolnir. We've seen mjolnir contain souls before. Most recently Enrakt (I think) while in astral spirit form effectively resided in Mjolnir and possessed it.

So maybe Doom trying to lift the hammer (this part I cant fill in. What did Doom feel that led him to Mjolnir? Why was his touching it the thing that set it off) anyway....Doom touches Mjolnir, wakes Thor up, his spirit needs a body, it 'wakes up' Donald Blake who comes to retrieve the hammer.

We're back to Don Blake as Thor except without the 60 second rule, maybe even without the cane, but a la jake olson he turns into thor and is thor

of and Asgard is no more and there are no other Asgardians

I'd love this personally.

(and Asgard would eventually be back of course)

It's possible that Thor's spirit was contained in Mjolnir. It's possible that, since Thor subconsciously recreated the Blake body every time he transformed back in the Silver Age, the energy release freed Thor's spirit and created a new Blake construct to house it. Only it didn't quite work as planned and the construct ended up someplace else instead of right at Mjolnir's doorstep.

I think Doom was drawn to Mjolnir because hitching a ride with it out of Hell somehow put him in tune it. Maybe it left some residual energy on him in its wake or something. Touching it returned the energy to Mjolnir or something. I don't know, I'm just speculating.

I'm excited for his return. I hope, upon his return, that Donald Blake can and does lift Mjolnir to reawaken Thor. However, if Thor does reawaken, I want Donald Blake's body to wither away leaving the body of our one and only Thunder God in its place.
Marvel is missing a large oppurtunity if they don't take Thor and tackle the idea of a major Norse god walking on Earth and keep it in canon. So...much...potential.
