Apparently this is a bit of another plot hole too if every Autobot and Decepticon can just repair themselves by scanning a vehicle why don't they do that moments before they're about to get blown to bits?

Seems pretty clear that the 'repairs' are somewhat or mostly superficial. I don't see Ratchet fixing any of that stuff that happened with a scan.

Prime was so damaged he could barely turn himself 'on' at the start. After certain(critical) things were fixed, he was actually out and about, driving the family around at high speeds, jumping off of buildings and fighting lockdown etc. All that before the scan which suggests that the major damage was fixed and the scan was more a superficial thing...

I still can't get over how Hound has a beard and cigar lol.

I thought the Autobots this time around were great, each really had its own thing going on. much more distinct than any other outings imo. Hound was my favorite, and i liked the Samurai one as well.

I'll certainly give this movie another viewing sometime in the future.

Only the John Goodman-bot had it's own thing going on. I don't see the dialogue and time spent any different than with other TF films.

There was actually alot more. It's the most comparable to the first, but this one had more due to the bots being introduced earlier and military good guys being left out.

Just the scene in Lockdowns ship gave them more dialogue then the previous two added together.

I agree with your response, I felt the Autobots were more fleshed out this time. In addition to that, Lockdown was great but I still feel the film fell apart. And it could have been so much better!

I think you think that because in the sequels there were so many more TF's and some of them certainly didn't get their share.

I'm happy there weren't any overly annoying or throwaway bots like those ghetto smack talking brothers or the ones who just show up for kill fodder. Honestly BumbleBee was my least favorite one this time, I get he's apparently supposed to be like immature or whatever but I'd rather 4 movies in that he would be like co-leader.

I think the human roles were great, especially Grammer, only one I didn't care for much was Tess' boyfriend, but I don't feel they detracted too much from the story being told like in the other films.

Lockdown was a very solid addition, and I loved the way the human made decepticons could like rearranging themselves, that was a cool visual addition.

Nah, I actually watch these flicks alot(probably too much haha). Besides Prime none of the other bots had as much dialogue here then the other flicks. Iron Hide and Sideswipe had a few moments. Otheriwise it was spent on The Twins, Wheelie or Brains abit. Everyone pretty much gets one sentence or a scene like Jetfire. Who really wasn't part of the autobot team.

Here, they talked through out and didn't cut away from them to go to the military who steals most the time in ROTF and DOTM. They were actually going back and forth to different bots at times. They had Ratchet at the dock, the meet up with Prime, The raid on Tucci's lab, Lockdowns Ship, the ship battle with Bee and Crosshairs, the dinobots and the attack on the city plus a few others.

I didnt think this was much of an issue, Cade repaired Prime to the point were he could move, and even fight off Lockdown at the factory and protect Cade and the two kids. He said earlier in the movie once I get to the other Autobots they will fix me. Then Cade says but you cant get there and does some basic repairs.

I just assumed the Autobots did the rest when he met up with them.

Same here, the last year especially I have watched them a lot because my nephews love them and I spent a year here in Australia to spend more time with them.

They want to watch them all the time and bar TF1, the bots didnt really get much focus outside of Prime and Bee in ROTF and DOTM. AOE brought it back to the 1st movie with other bots actually having some personality, and it was a welcome addition.

Going to see this today looking forward to it I know what i'm getting and Im fine with that :yay: love seeing robots transform

Logical Sense doesn't have to be the be the Be all End all in anything but documentary these days. Films, especially the summer fare wouldn't be all that common if he were wrong. I mean the superman disguise..DOFP...Godzilla...P-Rim(especially)....even Edge of Tmr or things like TDKT..
Almost all of them contingent on the spark of contrivity. Logical sense is hardly the end all in any of these scenarios. Whether it be premise or plot. Usually character motivation makes sense but even then not all ways.

Not sure what the TF writer said but from that snippet it just seems like he's telling it like it is.

I have a theory on that. I believe that when a Tf is reformating their alt form it exposes them to a vulnerable state. Therefore a TF will never scan and change when they are in potential danger. There may be an exception for when they have lost a limb or taken damage to their spake casing though, they will need some form of medical attention for that before they can scan and repair. Much like how a human sees a doctor for medical attention and then allow their immune system to do the rest.

Dumb movies are made all the time...so why is this the one movie that will destroy the world?

Except how many perceived "stupid" movies become a multi-billion dollar movie franchise?

There are lots of "dumb" things that make lots of money...Honey Boo Boo...Twilight...Kardashians...Justin Beiber...

People have different tastes. If people liked this movie enough to pump $100M into it..so what? Not everyone who saw the movie and liked it were snarling morons.

You didn't answer the question. Was a nice deflection though.

Well hell ... if you're sure, then I guess this conversation is over. LOL

You asked me how many "dumb" movies are multi billion franchises....Twilight is considered a dumb movie and made lots of money. People say Avatar is a "dumb" science fiction version of Ferngully or Dances with wolves. How many accuse Titanic of being dumb also?

On what planet were you having conversations with people about Avatar and Titanic being "dumb"?

You know what people mean by "dumb" in the TF case. Mindless action chalk full of juvenile jokes and innuendo. That happened in those movies? Really? LOL :whatever:

It only becomes an issue when success is present. It's all good otherwise.
The righteous idealism of coming down on unintelligent cinema for all the right reasons only steps up to the plate when things hit a billion.

Go figure.
