expectations were so low because of the low rating on rotten but i ended up liking it a lot!!!

I don't get the hate by some people. Bay has his own style...if you go to a Bay film you already know what you are in for. So why be surprised when it doesn't mean a certain expectations you yourself created?

I would say this is one of Bay's

Bay's movies aren't great cinema. But they're damn entertaining.

I know what i'm getting into when I go see a Michael Bay movie. Even in this one I rolled my eyes a few times but overall I still had a pretty good time.

Even "Revenge of the Fallen", a movie I consider to be one of the worst movies i've ever seen, I can still find merit in certain parts simply on the grounds that from a technical standpoint, these movies are incredibly well made.

Bayformers 4 was awesome. People act like they Transformers are some highbrow Dickensian literature or creation that can't be touched. It's robots that transform into cars and fight each other, be happy be have gotten 4 ****ing films about it.

Yeah, I know people who are still waiting on a Sailor Moon movie. I personally would love to see a theatrical live action movie on the Gargoyles cartoon. And, perhaps BraveStar. The latter needs some changes here and there, but I think an android horse shooting a bazooka would be quite interesting if done in live action.

Are you noticing that there are like 50 3D showings for this thing and like only 4-5 2D ones? Goddamn you, AMC.

The closest theater to me has all IMAX sold out for the day, and all movies, both 2D and 3D sold out till 9 pm tonight. I'm just not going to go that theater, and go to one that is about 8 miles further down the road.

I'm not a Michael Bay basher....so im not going there....saw the movie last night.... and although entertaining....had massive flaws...if your going to do a movie like Transformers.....at least give some kudos to the fanbase of the 80's television/movie, and have characters from it....instead of transformers we dont know.... Now Hound was great....but the Dinobots wasnt needed, and they never spoke....and BUMBLE BEE STILL CANT TALK!!!!!! i mean who is Lockdown??? Prime can fly in the end??? but could never in all of the other parts of the film..... aside from Galvatron....no other decepiticons!!!!!!????! while it was entertaining...it dragged on and on and on.....and made it slightly boring

Lockdown is a Bounty Hunter that originated in the 2007 Transformers animated cartoon a few years ago. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Lockdown_(Animated)

I was under the impression that there have been several characters from the original show in these films. However it's been suggested several times by the producers that they draw from the Lore as presented by hasbro, not simply the 80's show nor the toys. Which means they aren't limited to just that 80's show. Characters like the Fallen and Hound...

i mean who is Lockdown???
^Point in case.

Like batman, sometimes it bays to look at the vast mythology as opposed to some 80's installment. That's what I think anyways.

thanks for the opinion.

Just saw it today. It was pretty much what I expected! There were some improvements over the past films. The humor was not as stupid. I liked Whalberg better than Shia. The action was easier to watch. You could tell who was who.

Too long though. Your brain kinda just checks out by the end. :p If you liked the last 3, you will probably enjoy this one. It wasn't boring, thats for sure.
Optimus and Bee continued to be great characters. And the new Autobots were welcome additions. The main transformer villain was pretty cool. But [BLACKOUT]the return of Megatron[/BLACKOUT] was pretty lame.

All in all it was pretty entertaining. 8/10 I'd say. It knows what it wants to be and does it pretty well!

Like Marvin said, they use the lore of Transformers. Rather that's from G1 (which most of it is), The Marvel/IDW comics or the later animated series.

Lockdown is a solid character and we are actually lucky to get a villain as well represented for film this go around as he was. He definitely bested Megatron, Sentinel and The Fallen.

oh...and no end credits....although wishful thinking....wouldve been nice to see where Prime was headed

Funny how this movie is making Labeouf's movies look like Schindler's List.

Was it that bad? From what people say about it, they seem to have fixed the messy look of the bots, given them a bigger role and cut a bit on the toilet humor.

Nothing will EVER be as bad as "Revenge of the Fallen".

Just judging by the posters here, this seems actually to be the 2nd best Transformers Movie. The only problem is that it's longer than it should be. I'm actually interested in seeing it now, but the length just simply scares me off. I don't know if I can endure 3 hours of **** blowing up.

Nah, the same was said about Dark of the Moon at the time, how it was an improvement and interesting, but it has been retconed in the past few years to being almost as bad as Revenge of the Fallen.

This movie was definitely an improvement in a few ways. I thought it was the best. For me it goes

T4
Transformers (pretty close second)
T3

T2

That's not true. When the preview day hit there were plenty of complaints.

I think as far as actual fans of the series go, many will prefer this to DOTM due to it having a better villain then Sentinel and the military not stealing time from the bots so they can have more personality and screen time.

Each new autobot has more screen time and lines then Sideswipe, Dino, Ratchet, The Wreckers and Ironhide combined in DOTM.

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I knew what I was getting into and had a great time.

It's been said a thousand times, but more bot time, less potty humor, and less military mad it a marked improvement in my book. My IMAX 3D showing was packed almost an hour before the film and finished with applause and shouts of joy. Definitely want to catch this one more time in the theater. Not groundbreaking, not art, just guilty pleasure fun all around.

How was the IMAX 3D? Did the new camera improve the experience?

I want to check it out in IMAX but hate 3D, and I'm always worried I won't catch the detail of the fights since everything moves so quick.

Just saw it in San Diego.

Exactly what I expected!

Fu.....c....ing Awesome!

why all the hate? Puts TF 2 and 3 to shame.

WALHBERG WAS GREAT! VISUALS WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD.

oh theater was full and everyone laughed and responded in the areas I think were intended,.

Well, I can only speak for myself. I didn't like it because I thought that it sucked, simple as that.
