Sequels Transformers 6 and future sequels thread

I think in a straight up fight Optimus will always beat Megatron because I think he really is physically stronger, but Megatron tends to be a pragmatist and sucker punch a lot.

Megatron was a freaking beast in the first movie. My guess is Bay toned him down a ton after a good number of fans complained about Optimus getting his a** handed to him then.

He was physically bigger than Optimus in the first film iirc

Well. At least it was kinda fun.

And they do the Unicron is Earth thing from Transformers: Prime. Why not.

Transformers Prime and Robot in Disguise 2015 are in same continuity that Exode trilogy novels and War for Cybertron/Fall for Cybertron video games

So sequels (T6 T7) could be based on these novels and games

Been reading news on Transformers and all the talk of the box office states it debut at #1 but it's numbers are lowest in series. Are these people just trying to spin the movies success or is it really performing lackluster?

In the US yeah, but internationally it seems to be doing well (not surprising).

China loves the **** out of these movies.

In the comics and cartoons they are more often than not evenly matched, but win fights through circumstance. I.e Optimus trying to save lives mid-fight which lets Megatron get the upper hand. Or Optimus being extra pissed, etc.

Megatron was bigger in ROTF as well. Prime definitely got a power boost after the first movie though. And he needed it. The first movie is the best in the series by some way. But Optimus getting such a beating in that fight still rubs me the wrong way. If there is one thing the sequels have rectified, it's making Prime more bad ass and a better fighter.

The problem is, Bay made Prime too overpowered (Bumblebee as well). There are very few instances I can count after the first movie where Prime was truly near defeated by another cybertronian's hands.

I was really disappointed with his fight against Infernocus in TLK.

Well, they're never gonna kill them off so they have to win every fight by their logic. They are the Batman and Superman of the universe.

Well yeah, but that's not my issue. Having Prime just plow through hordes of Decepticons with little to no effort and repeatedly defeating Megatron with ease doesn't offer any kind of tension in regards to his character having to actually struggle. Besides the first movie, the only times he actually struggled to win against someone was Sentinel Prime (who would have killed him if not for Megatron's intervention), and Lockdown (who had him pinned down with his own sword).

Plus, it diminishes the Decepticons' level of threat to an embarassing degree. TLK didn't help with that.

It bothered the hell out of me when Optimus said "Please" to Sentinel when he was about to kill him. Maybe it's just me but it seemed so out of character and not heroic. Then the immediate contrast with him suddenly turning back into a badass and decapitating Megatron in the next 10 seconds, seemed so jarring.

The fights in general in TLK were awful, I normally love the action in this franchise, but I didn't with the latest movie. I actually thought Optimus Vs Bee was a good way to go in the 5th movie, as I agree Optimus and Bee are both a bit overpowered. But that fight was over way too quickly.

Shockwave was another who needed a much bigger fight with Optimus. Seeing him defeated so easily really disappointed me as I love Shockwave.

The action in ROTF was glorious. Best in the franchise.

Agreed to a degree. I love the forest fight and Bee Vs Rampage. But the Prime Vs Fallen fight was always a disappointment to me.

The Fallen will always be the biggest missed opportunity in this franchise.

You got the original 'Decepticon', a fallen Prime, with this badass design voiced by freaking Tony Todd who can levitate stuff in a whim. You could have done a lot of great things with his character.

But nope.

Yeah a little but Optimus combining with Jet Fire was epic. I got so hyped in the theatre I started fist pumping by myself lol

I saw it today and it is every bit the trainwreck people are saying, it's like Bay cobbled together every idea he's ever had for a Transformers movie, threw in a few ideas he borrowed from other movies/TV/videogames, added a dollop of his beloved military porn and frat boy humour and boiled them all together while puffing on the worlds biggest doobie.

It's a rambling, incoherent, jumbled mess of plot threads and characters that jumps around non-stop, it really felt like there wasn't a script for this and Bay just decided from day to day what he thought would be cool to shoot and then left it to the editor to piece it together in post. I can't recall ever seeing a big film like this with so many abrupt edits and there were scenes that had jarring inserts where the characters suddenly were in a different place then the next shot were back in the previous location.

Marky Mark and Professor Hot valiantly battle against the tide of nonsensical madness and Anthony Hopkins seems to be getting a perverse kick out of the absurdity he's slap bang in the middle of. His characters buttler bot Cogman is probably the films only good addition to the saga.

3/10

Bay also made sure to randomly put her in a "sexy dress" for no real reason (and where did she even get that anyway).

And I'd hope that even Bay wouldn't be creepy enough to overtly sexualize a 14 year old.

:funny: I guess Lord whatshisname just had a LBD lying around as 70 year old men are prone to do, why she needed to change her clothes remains a mystery though.

He didn't sexualize her but the minute she meets the boys near the stadium one of them is ogling her and even cracks an awkward "big heart" joke.

Well apparently not this one. The weekend international gross came in low when the China weekend ended up kind of going off a cliff.

As much as the forest fight kicked ass, I'd have to give that honor to Dark of the Moon for this:

To this day I still have no idea why Sam was yelling his name.

Not for me. In ROTF I thought the action was a lot cleaner, you could see the punches, you could see the kicks. Optimus blasting Megatron's arse through a wall twice in the movie was epic. And that last one you're talking about, I hated it. First they showed Optimus begging to Sentinel, not to kill him, which I think Optimus should never do. Secondly Megatron just stood there while Optimus straight up decapitated him.

Actually, he didn't just stand there. If you look closely, he actually tries to lift up his shotgun right before Optimus axes him in the head.

It's in the contract that every movie needs Shia Labeef screaming "OPTIMUS!" :oldrazz:

Followed by an endless amounts of screeching no's. :o
