Transformers Movie Universe Is Getting a Full Reboot After Bumblebee?

BOOOOOO.... Why is holyweird so hell bent, these days, on rebooting everything they can get their claws into, even when the 'predecessor's barely 4 yrs old?!

Edit: This was already posted in the Transformers' sub-forum.

Kinda funny that Michael Bay has wanted to get out of the franchise since after film 3 due to wanting his run to end with a bang, yet, the fact that he decided to stay has made his run end with an unfinished story.

I....what....

Look if it means we get Unicron I'm willing to see how it pans out.

Does this mean we're getting 2 continuities?

No, sorry, Unicron is not worth the continuation of this.. stuff...

But hey, if Last Knight can get a sequel, then there's hope for Alita!;)

And Rampage!

Seriously speaking, FOX and WB have enough intellectual properties that they don’t need to cling to movies with mediocre performance. Only poor Paramount is desperate enough to latch on to the likes of Transformers and Star Trek.

I would so be on board for a rampage sequel !! That giant squid looked awesome !! As for transformers. I’m thinking that the sequel to The last Knight will act as a reboot to the official timeline and tie into the prequels ( Bumble Bee ) at some point.

I wish that they would do Hot rod right and make him more accurate. He’s the bot that could be leader should the worst happen to prime, I mean he is the chosen one of transformers lore.. The least they could do is get him right and stop making him a bumblebee clone.

A live action remake of Transformers the Movie (1985). The best Transformers movie ever! Also had a kickin soundtrack. That's what I was looking for with the Bayformers movies.

Would also love a Rampage sequel!

The last Transformers and Star Trek movies were pretty good, IMO. They suffered though because they were preceded by ones that were mediocre messes.

It would be such a weird move if that actually happens... People just started liking Transformers again, you would kill off all that that momentum by going back to the Bay movies...

They're apparently doing both sequels.

I know, but I'm assuming they'll first be releasing that Bay movie. I'm worried that it could hurt the chances of any other future Transformers movies being succesful. Most people might be completely done with it after another bad movie...

I couldn't agree with this more. It's like the studios etc were worried about continuing because the movies sucked, and they weren't sure whether fans would stick with the Transformers Universe, then when Bumblebee got raving reviews and shined, they quickly thought they could make a few extra bucks by finishing off the story they were already on/ It's a mess.

There's literally no sense in having two timelines here, with two continuities. It's going to confuse the hell out of casual cinema-goers for one thing.

Bay is a confusing guy. I can't tell at times if he's a genius or just crazy.

No they aren't. Read the fine print. More clickbait fake news.

Lorenzo either needs to be told to keep his mouth shut, or let go from Paramount. He’s too much of a liability to be kept around.

Sure, a good share of the blame for the Bayformers films can be laid at Bay himself, but Lorenzo is the one most responsible for a lot of the films’ bad decisions, not to mention a lot of the terrible PR in the news. The man just says and does stuff without knowing exactly what he’s talking about or doing.

Also, if you didn’t know, he was involved with The Iron Giant (hence Bumblebee sharing a lot of story beats making a lot of sense). I kind of get the sense that him being involved in these films is him constantly trying to make up for that film not doing well in its initial run, because he feels guilty and responsible; he’s just trying to make The Iron Giant again and again, like he’s continuously caught in some sort of loop, trying to make some sort of penance. If that’s truly the case, it’s kind of sad.

The sooner he’s let go or leaves, the sooner a lot of the problems these films have suffered will go away.
