Bumblebee The Bumblebee Spin-Off Official Thread

Not counting Bumblebee as a sub-franchise, a small part of me just wants to see a final installment directed by Michael Bay to round out the Wahlberg trilogy and close out the damn thing.

Yep, we need to see Mark Wahlberg telling women they're dressed like strippers and more Hot Rod, a French autobot who speaks in a French accent who hates the French language.

Yes, just two and a half more hours of Bay stupidity to fill that void.

I demand 100% more of that one scene where Megatron demands "I want my crew!" and then we get freeze frame intros for canon fodder because a producer watched Suicide Squad last week.

I forgot about that, and how nearly all of his crew were just reused CGI models of past Decepticons, including a repainted Shockwave with a gold chain around his neck. :lmao:

Yep. Who cares that Hot Rod was the man who succeeded Optimus Prime, once carried the Matrix of Leadership and led the Autobots, and had to deal with being in Optimus' shadow.

No, let's just make him a snobby Frenchman who talks in a French accent but doesn't even KNOW actual French, and actually hates that he has a French accent and the French language.

My favourite scene in any of the Bay movies. I die every single time. I have a good time with the fifth one, honestly, more than his others. It's so blindly stupid with so many bizarre decisions that feel like they were come up with on a bender that I have a great time watching it with friends. Transformers won WWII? Sure. Drunk Stanley Tucci Merlin? Why not? BB-8 and C-3PO stand-ins? Random self-loathing French transformer? Post-apocalyptic Chicago? Stonehenge portal thingy? Excalibur? Yeah, alright, sure, **** it.

I didn't love Bumblebee or anything, but the longer Bay stays away from this franchise the better. I actually enjoy the first Transformers movie for what it is a dumb, summer blockbuster and I never hated Revenge of the Fallen, but the movies after that are pretty ****ing unbearable IMO, especially the ones with Wahlberg who I have always liked as an actor, but man was he miscast and awful in those movies.

Shia LaBeouf really held this franchise together for me in the beginning and despite all the craziness that was around her I didn't mind Megan Fox for what little she was given, but even if you brought them back I still never want to see another Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay ever again.

I have liked all of the movies in the franchise so far, Bay just has a style that can’t replicate do and his movies entertain me. I still maintain the first Transformers movie is extremely under rated though in the grand scheme of things.

Bumblebee was awesome though so I don’t mind them carrying on from there, and new blood coming to the franchise can be a good thing going forward.

Maybe no one wants to replicate his style because it's not a style anyone wants to replicate.

Also, fast-paced, high-octane action and explosions is not a style Bay invented and it's not a style only he can do. Other directors have done and done it better.

As I said, I like his movies personally, they entertain me, including the TF movies.

But I realise not everybody else does and I am ready for new blood in this franchise. Shame they couldn't get Knight back though.
