Transformers Transformers: Toy Thread

Kind of curious bro, Is that supposed to be Prince Dex on your Avvy or Minami Kotaro?

Dex. I barely remember the details of the show but I'll never forget that sweet costume. I also liked his Super Gold and Super Blue modes/upgrades.

Unfortunately, I've never seen Kamen Rider Black RX.

Give it a look. You might be able to find a couple of VERY badly translated videos on youtube. Yeah, I love me some RX and Black before him. Most badass non-Jedi/Sith with a Lightsaber.

This site gives a pretty good history.

It's one of those shows I plan to watch. Whenever I hear someone mention it it's usually to praise it.

Thanks for the link. I forgot that Super Gold/Roborider would sometimes one-shot whichever monster he was facing. Now I'm tempted to find his toy on eBay.

Completely agree with the Lightsaber comment. Even my dinky little Avvy shows off it's badassery.

Paint job looks tacky but there's a 90% chance that I'll bite. I really didn't want yet another Optimus Prime.:csad:

well, paint it black and you've got RID Scourge. I'm curious how Peaugh gets his stuff so early.

Great thing about Christmas is the X'Mas bargains. Snagged Drift and Red Alert for 30 bucks local currency. I like them both but Red Alert's transformation feels a little iffy.

Will hold on on Jazz and Tracks for the more vibrant United versions.

Anyone have any tips on touching up paints? My Henkei Prime has some scrape spots on the silver highlights (especially around the arms after transforming). I picked up a few silver/grey paints (Acrylic Chrome Silver and Flat Aluminum) to touch it up the paint looks rather flaky once dried. Is the a method to reverse any bad paint jobs or give it a smoother finish?

The Sideswipe/Sunstreaker mold is pretty finicky. I like them but their shoulders are annoying to deal with when transforming.

I don't know the first thing about painting Transformers. I'm still trying to muster up the drive to finish my Masterpiece Starscream modification. Couldn't stand that hip kibble.

That takes a lot of testicular fortitude especially with an expensive toy. I can never see myself trying that.

Chances are I will never do it again. It was/is all kinds of nerve wracking.

Straxus/Darkmount is really tempting me with his unique facesculpt and the fact that I've never owned a Straxus before.

In the spirit of Asian one-up-ship, after telling a friend of mine about my successful purchase of a Henkei Prime (at a reasonable price of 50 local dollars) he showed me pictures of his 400 dollar Shattered Glass Prime to make me feel a little envious. That 'Till all are Gone' writing on his cannon is f'ing cool.

My hit list:

-Straxus (Generations)
- Streak (Henkei)
My TF shelf needs a little more blue.

Update: I'm in discussions with a seller to try getting Henkei Convoy + DIA Commander for around 200 local currency. Hoping to seal the deal come Feb. Root for me!

I know its been a couple of days but I hope you succeeded with your transaction.

Decided to go for a ride today and was able to snag Jazz, Thrust, and Dirge. WOOT WOOT!!!

Nice. Hope you've got Ramjet to complete the Coneheads.

Went to my usual place today when the guy asked if I was interested in Seeker knock-offs.

Now...I'm not usually a guy who buys fake products but according to my guy in the shop, knock-offs are made from the same factory as the regular Takara/Hasbro stuff.

Thoughts?

Still need Ramjet and Skywarp.

Even if they are made at the same factory it doesn't mean they have the same quality of plastic seen in the Hasbro versions. That's about it as far as my knowledge of seeker KOs

One thing I like about the people who sell me stuff (i.e. the ***kers who drain me of money) is how forthcoming they are about selling knock-offs. After a week and a half of trying to secure a genuine DIA Commander, the original seller wasn't too sure about selling and eventually it didn't pan out.

No biggie, went to a shop, asked them about the product. Got the usual 'You're a year too late' giggle and they came clean with me about them bringing in a stock of KO Powered Commanders.

Ok, decision time. A KO version of an unlicensed product? Two wrongs make a right? Or am I just deluding myself.

1)Looks good

2)Made from good quality plastic

Pretty much all that matters for a toy.:yay:

With add-ons like this Commander armor stuff, clearance issues are a big deal. I just saw a video on youtube and the KO version seems to have a few clearance issues.

If it's a common issue than I would try to find a legit version for a decent price.

Yeah. Problem is, when it comes to Ebay, there's this oddball chance that the guy who's selling you the item doesn't know whether what he has is a KO or the genuine article.
