How Wikipedia discibes True Blood and upcoming Vampire television series on HBO

True Blood is an American television series based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries books by Charlaine Harris and adapted for television by Alan Ball. The series is produced by HBO in association with Ball's own production company, Your Face Goes Here Entertainment.[1]
The show details the fictional co-existence of vampires and humans in a small Louisiana town after Japanese-made synthetic blood – "TruBlood" – becomes available for purchase. Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress at a diner who falls in love with one of the vampires, Bill Compton (portrayed by Stephen Moyer).[1][2]
The show will premiere on September 7, 2008.[3]

Is anyone else as excited as I am about this series?

They have the viral campaign going in full force on HBO...

I've very excited about this series. I've read four of the books so far. Too bad I don't have HBO. :(

Saw the Pilot online. Not only were they able to stick to the source material of the novels but also add in scenes that made sense to the viewers. Can't wait for this.

Didn't know they had a panel at Comic-Con this year . Here's a pic of the two leads

Man, I will be away at school when this comes on. :(

Hopefully it'd be On Demand when I come back home for break.

They could put it online, too. That's what I'm hoping for.

I've watched the uniared pilot and they recast the black girl.

No problem. Yeah I though I watched the first pilot but instead I got the one with the newly casted Tara.

I'm so sick of civilized Vampires...I want to see vicious vampires...who feed on their prey like animals.

From the trailer, I don't know if I should love Sookie or think's she stupid.

She comes off that way to people because she is trying not to listen in to what they are thinking. They all think she is crazy because she'll give them this big goofy grin whenever she is nervous.

It could be interesting, depending on which way they portray it. Are they going for a humourous edge, ala Buffy/Angel, or are they going for a serious tone, ala Blade: The Series?

The premise doesn't really grab me, but it's HBO, so I'll give it a try.

Yeah, he is a flaming, flaming queen. He is technically a dude though.

I think so. They are from a southern writer so you can really tell by the way she describes things in the books, it's cute. It has it's tame moments and it's frisky/bloody moments as well. The books get better and better but I just finished the 5th one and that was ok. So far my favorite is the third book Club Dead. If it makes it to season 3 that is gonna be a fun season to watch.
