Totally! Basically, if Apocalypse is as good, then just the fact that it has Cyclops, Jean and Storm will easily make it my fave in the series.

Agreed. Apocalypse alone would make it my fav. He's My Fav X-Villian. I don't even want to get into this discussion right now it makes me so excited lol.

The potential X-Roster in the film vs Apocalypse is mind blowing. Not to mention the horseman... I don't even want to go there lol.

Im trying not to get too hyped for Apocalypse, at least not until we know for sure who is directing and if certain folks are coming back!

After I see DOFP i will have to do rewatch of a lot of comic book films. I have been tempted recently to change my rankings of X-Men films with X-men ahead of First Class. I have always said X2 I consider better than First Class but having watched X-Men a couple of times again I am reminded despite limited budget how good It Is. A lot of characters In X-Men are closer to characters I know from my many years of collecting comics than FC.

The ending of DOFP may color my feelings on FC moving forward.

Apocalypse is going to be amazing to see on screen. That will be another very important film for this franchise hopefully setting the foundations of what we can expect from the future films within it. It seems like at this moment we are in a better position than we were after X2 in the build up to X3 with X4 also rumoured to be on the cards at that point. Now the possibilities seem endless with the studio giving full backing and Singer back to what he does best.

I just got back from the film. Amazing. Really blown away by the acting and visual effects. Hugh looks better than ever! That being said, I tried to stay away from as many TV spots as I possibly could to enjoy the film even more. I didn't entirely know what to expect but I was extremely satisfied with the result.

I'm really excited what effect this will have on the future X-cineverse

I wish DOFP would have Scott and Jean in the future, ignoring what happened in X3. That alone would make me ecstatic since I think their deaths in X3 were the most pointless parts of the movie.

While I agree that Scott and Jean's deaths were not handled or executed well in X3, I disagree that they should be in the future. In this sense, it is actually faithful to the DOFP comic.

In the comic run, DOFP is essentially a sequel or epilogue to the Dark Phoenix Saga and in the first issue of DOFP called "Elegy" (#138), it begins with Jean Grey's funeral and ends with Scott Summers leaving the X-Men for a while.

So it is sort of faithful in that sense with X3 and their deaths. I'm glad they will be in Apocalypse though, but younger obviously.

I am just gonna follow your advice by keeping myself busy for a little while.

I am gonna read some negative reviews too so I can condition myself that it has some flaws. That way, I'll have a bigger chance to be surpised.

I also thought about reading negative reviews so I don't get overhyped but it could be too effective and while watching the movie, I could be thinking about only those flaws. Not a good idea either!
