Two dead at actor Ron Ely's home

An elderly woman and her attacker are dead at actor Ron Ely's home in California. Police were called to the actor's home last night on what they called a "domestic disturbance"....they found an elderly woman dead from stab wounds and then opened fire and shot to death the man they say was her attacker. They have not confirmed who the elderly woman was nor the identity of her dead attacker.....but people are speculating that she is Ely's wife. The police say Ely himself is safe and OK. Ely is best known for playing Tarzan on TV in the 60's and playing Doc Savage at the theater in the 70's. I remember watching Ely's Tarzan as a kid.

I belong to a couple of Doc Savage facebook pages (Ely played Doc in a movie)....several people on there have reported that all contact from Ely stopped around 2 years ago (he appeared at a Doc Savage con 3 years ago and kept in contact with people for about a year afterward)....one of the news reports I read (since deleted) says that the police found an elderly disabled man at the house. It sounds like it is possible he had health issues pop up a couple of years ago (he is 81 years old). He has a son and two daughters. The story is sad enough s it is....but if it turns out that his son murdered his mother it will be truly tragic.

Jeez, I hope that's not the case. I mean, obviously it's terrible, whatever happened. Yes, I remember that Doc Savage film. Shame we never got the sequel. I think I heard that Ely turned to writing.

He had two novels about a private eye published.

It's been confirmed that the son of the Ely's, 30 year old Cameron, killed his mother.
