UFC and MMA are fads that will fade like acid wash jeans!

Typical 20 something reaction. Cant formulate an opinion other than snaky remarks.

Given the fact that the population is aging (baby boomers form the largest demographic). MMA is doomed.

so let me get this straight, you were at a bar, and some guy wearing an Affliction T-Shirt stole your girl, slapped the beer out of your hand, and laughed at you along with the entire bar? So, to get payback, you log onto a Super Hero Forum, and complain about the type of person that ruined your night at Jucy's Lucies Extended Happy Hour Tuesday?

not sure what your beef with him is, but i personally find him a funny dude and aside from his psychedelic talk he always keeps it real. some people might think he's a *****e loser who smokes too much pot but i respect the guy for knowing his martial arts and keeping things real.

regardless, the point of me posting that video wasn't to promote Joe Rogan...it was to illustrate sum this thread up in a video. Joe Rogan provides excellent points as to why MMA is not just a fad.

I have no beef with Joe Rogan, except for the fact that he's not funny at all, and is pretty much a walking joke (the unfunny kind, of course). I don't care how much pot he smokes, but that does give me a great analogy as to why he's ineffective of helping MMA.

Pot legalization has been debated for years, and has been shot down each time. This is probably because the "face" of marijuana is the stoner *****ebag. Nobody respects that image and it's holding pot legalization back.

Joe Rogan is an unfunny, non-influential Q-list "celebrity". UFC and MMA as a whole need a better face if they want to be more respected. Maybe if they pushed one of their more charismatic fighters as the face, give the industry it's own Hulk Hogan or Mohammed Ali, something would happen.

Randy Couture

And I agree with your assessment.....it's hard for the main stream to take you seriously when the face of your sport spouts off about female reporters being c****$......that kind of stuff is funny when you're 12.....a low brow 12 year old!...and I love MMA

I would say UFC's face, would still be Dana White, not Joe Rogan....

Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture have also gone well out of their way to push the industry.

I dont think its a fad...I live in a small town and we just opened an UFC gym for training and its one of the most successful things we got...I dont really watch the sports...I only watching boxing...sometimes...I absolutely dislike Wrestling because guys in tiny trunks faking punches gets boring to me...especially with the horrible acting...but I understand why people love all of this...therefore I wont knock it if anyone tells me otherwise...
I just dislike the drunk chubby redneck guys in my town that wear the MMA and UFC(also affliction is stupid) shirts and start fights with random people...even older people because they look at them wrong...theres a bowling place here where they all hang out after training and stuff and I saw a couple guys get drunk and trash talked a cop saying "if it werent for that badge I'd knock your ass out one punch" when all the cop was doing was standing outside the door...of course they eventually got arrested but thats the crap I see ALOT now...lay off the roids!
but back to the topic...its not a fad.

at least i dont think
(i prefer football, baseball, basketball, and soccer over all these b-list sports anyways...heck i like golf more)

Halfway through the first post, I realized what movie we were in:

Great, great movie btw.

lol..haven't seen it but I want to...especially since we've been going on and on about it apparently for a few pages here....

This thread has been about hunting trolls from the beginning. The movie needs a sequel though.

hehe...that's like me saying "i don't have beef with Britney Spears, except for her making crummy music and being a bad influence for today's youth." don't try to act like you don't have beef with Joe Rogan. it might not be a personal matter but it's clear you don't like the guy. that being said, you're free to have your own opinion even if i don't agree.

it could probably use a better commentator, but if i had to choose a commentator to replace it would be Mike Goldberg. he adds almost nothing to the discussions other than reading off statistics and the history of the fighters. on top of that, he comes off a lot more fake and *****ey than Joe.

Joe might not be your cup-o-tea when it comes to comedy and his actions outside of the UFC, but he contributes greatly to the discussions as a commentator and has always talked highly about MMA. he might not be the best spokesperson, but then again neither is Mike Goldberg for that matter. at least Joe has been practicing martial arts for most of his life and understands the art of MMA.
