Ultimate Power

What i meant was that for the Thing to be able to consistantly go toe to toe against beings like the Hulk (even though he always loses,) he has to be way above the 70ton range.

That, or he's just stubborn. It's been stated many times that The Hulk is stringer than The Thing, but Ben just refuses to quit even when he's horribly overpowered.

question, i edited my post in the previous page.

Another things, this is kind of off topic but i hate how Wolverine's able to cut through everything..it makes no sense!

For example, a samurai sword can cut through wood. BUT that doesn't mean you can take a samurai sword and cut a red oak in half. The wood is too dense and you just don't have the strength and momentum to do it. You might end up getting the sword stuck an inch into the tree. That's what should happen when Wolverine tries to cut through the Hulk or anything else for that matter. but then again...this is the comics..:whatever:

Hey, I still hold to the idea that lesbians are a purer breed of humans than most, and that bi-sexuals are god's chosen people. Whatever float's your boat. :woot:

I don't think Cap broke any of The Hulk's bones in their one on one fight. I think Cap dropping a tank on him from several hundred feet in the air might have broken his bones, though.

He busted Hulk's jaw. Which, agreeably, is a weaker bone, but still would be absolutely dense as hell.

You know, that's true. However, I doubt they'll be making him THAT much more powerful.

Agreed, I haven't read the second issue yet, but i saw this happening from the start. I hope JMS keeps the story consistent with his Supreme power depictions, where hyperion is Illustrated as being probably the strongest character in marvel at the moment. Very few characters, even in the 616 universe have performed feats on the same level as Hyperion. IMO, only Ulitimate Hulk and maybe Namor have a chance of lasting more than a min with him (let alone hurting him, considering his immense durability). The only character in comicdom who regulary demonstrates simillar levels of strength, is OYL Superman.Im looking forward to the Spectrum vs Iron man fight, and the Nighthawk vs wolverine.

It's a comic. As in non reality.

What ''should'' happen wouldn't be very exciting. Drop a gamma bomb on someone, they ''should'' die.

I'm all for logic, and suspending disbelief only going to certain extents, but to me, if you can accept a radiactive bomb turning someone into a giant , strong neigh invunerable monster, then accepting wolverine cutting someone should be pretty much a non issue.

I thought he got the broken jaw from Cap when Cap kicked him in the face after he turned back into Bruce Banner.

Yeah, that was a cheap shot by cap, didn't expect that from him but hey i guess he alittle upset at the 300+ american casulaties. but back to ultimate power, i think that issue 3 will provide some interesting match-ups like quicksilver vs. blur, IM vs nuke, scarlett witch vs arcanna, hyperion vs thor/thing/ and hopefully colossus, and nighthawk vs either wolverine or cap.

that's not true, actually. Redstone has held his own with Mark on two occassions. Mark resorted to taking Redstone out into space, since he can't breathe out there. otherwise, he hasn't put him down for the count with just his fists.

I meant there are very few characters outside the SS universe that can actually match him. I love Redstone as a character, he reminds me very much of kid Miracle from Miracle Man.

Why?!
Anyway, I don't think we'll get a Wolvie vs. Nighthawk fight. I think we'll get a Cap vs. Nighthawk. Why would anyone want to see Wolvie against NH anyway? Wolvie would slaughter him without any restraint once he hits his beserker rage. Just like Loeb had illustrated in his Batman/Superman comic with the DC "Avengers."

Can you explain that? what happened? Im confused...

In the Batman/Superman comics, Loeb created the Maximums, DC's Avengers. Kind of like Marvel's Justice League aka Squadron Supreme. Anyway, the depictions are "somewhat" accurate. Either way, its a good read.

could tell me what happened in #3? My cbs's shipment got screwed up and they got only less than half of their stuff.

Basically, we see what happened in the Supreme Power 'verse. Reed's probe somehow brought some interdimensional mold spore with it that, when arriving in the Supremeverse, grew into a giant flesh eating vine thing that wiped out a good chunk of the east coast of the U.S.

Hyperion has a weakness, and it's every man's weakness....

Hookers.

Lots of them.

The promo for this story says that Nighthawk has discovered some strange substance that will even the odds.

No doubt...Marvel's version of Kryptonite.

Can someone please explain why Land keeps drawing Ulimate Wasp like 616???

Isn't she suppose to be Asian???

It's called Argonite.

Do you think he'll fix this??

Who bets that Inertia gets left on Marvel's world permantly? I don't think we'll see Quicksilver vs. Blur or Hulk vs. Hyperion either. Good read thus far though.
