I finally got to see episode 4.
I really enjoyed myself watching it.
Good episode I thought, more serious in tone.
The only thing I didn't like in the episode was the cutaway to Venom mowing the lawn.
The joke itself was fine, it's the timing of the cutaway that I didn't like (during the fight).
Episode was about a 7.5/10
Enjoyed every episode so far, and I'm loving the preview for the Iron Man episode.
Can't wait for the series to take the "more serious" turn that Dini has said, aswell as the MoA guys have stated on their Facebook page

I,as well finally got to see the Venom episode and while I liked how they changed Venom's origin up a bit,I didn't like how the symbiote attached itself to Spider-man and then referred to himself as "Venom." Plus, the whole story didn't seem as epic as the symbiote/Venom story we all know with Eddie Brock, black suited Spidey;etc. There was no real inner battle between Spidey and the symbiote. It was just this "blob" creature the only took 10 minutes to defeat.
I guess that's why I never liked the Ultimate universe.

Glad to hear kids are liking it and all, but Disney should make the show likable for everyone, from kids to grown up fans. Pixar flicks appeal to all demographic, no reason why comic book shows can't.

That's why EMH was so great for me. They threw in such a lot of serious stuff that made me forget this was actually a show that kids were watching. And there were various references, themes, situations and plots that you would fully understand or get a huge kick out of if you were an older viewer or a Marvel geek, like they'd throw in so much stuff that made me fangirl in my seat. This is what makes that show so great and I agree that comic book shows can and should appeal to all demographic.

Because some kids, they don't know what's good for them.

This show is pretty brutal.

Iron Fist is like 11 years old. The show screams of Anime, and there is nothing I hate more than that anime tone and style. The Show COULD be good. The designs and animation is smooth and pretty good, the voice acting is good. The breaking the 4th wall isn't awful, but a lot of the other b.s has to stop. And why are they making MJ into Lois Lane? That's NOT her.

Nova, White Tiger, Luke Cage and Iron Fist were pretty awful. It's nice to see them finally get into an animated series, but they were done AWFUL.

This show is pretty awful after 3 episodes that I've seen...I'll give it a shot, but they ditched Weisman and Spectacular Spider-man for this toy commercial? (Granted we did get Young Justice).

I mean, a Spider-Cycle? All of the cut aways to fake stuff, that is supposed to be hilarious, but falls flat, like the angel and devil on the soldier type stuff, etc.

This has a LONG way to go from becoming one of the greats, and to live up to its "ultimate" title... and why couldn't they just attempt to bring "Ultimate Spider-man" to screen, instead of just calling it one thing, and making it a Teen Titans meets Spider-man?

LOL nice reference

I totally agree. My feeling is that the comedy parts are trying too hard. Almost every time I see those cut away gags, I get the same feeling I got when I first time saw the "toaster gag" from the trailer. You know, the "it's funny, I guess..."-feeling

I also feel that this whole show shouldn't be a team-up series. While I wouldn't have minded a few episodes using that (with hero's like Iron-man, Cap or even Luke Cage) I don't like that he's constantly spending time with these other teenage-heroes who aren't likeable at all

I'll defend Fist & Cage and say "not awful"

not awful, but not very interesting either. It would've been better imo if Luke Cage wasn't a teenager, and if there would've been only a few team-up episodes instead of every episode being one

I wish they build them

Other than some of the character designs, this show has actually almost nothing to do with the Ultimate universe, which is one of my biggest gripes about the show

This show is not that bad (imo).
Of course compared to TSSM it has its minuses, such as the kinda-rich Peter. Since the main attraction about Spidey that I like is the fact that he has financial struggle to face besides his superhero duty, but USM changed it and gave the reporter job to MJ instead (which is NOT cool, she is not Louis Lane y'know). And some of the jokes are kinda forced, like when the bad guys about to attack Spidey and he looked at the audience and said "that's not good" seriously, enough with the 4th wall breaking (only Deadpool can pull that off imo). On the other hand, USM also has its ups as well. I admit the artwork is kinda good, and the part on episode 2 where he talk alone with Nick Fury about working solo instead of team-ups, I say they managed to throw the angst quite nicely despite all the humor. So basically, sure it has its ups and downs but it's worth a try instead of whining for season 3 of TSSM which (probably) won't be made.

I think you said it best. That's the type of feeling I get for most of the cutaway scenes.

AMEN TO THAT! People are free to complain obviously, but the same points get brought up again & again, so it's quite repetitive.

Anyway, MoA said on Facebook that "As with any new show, the thing finds its voice as it moves along. Stick around and give it a shot, maybe you'll be surprised"

AND

" Lots of people work very hard every week to make a fun show. We all love Spidey as a character and have had a blast with this new take on him. Stick around and I think you'll see how Spidey grows as a character and a leader over the series. Or not. That's up to you!"

Like they said, "that's up to you" lol.

Everyone knows I like the show, but I too think it CAN improve in some areas.
I just hope it finds its groove sooner than later (by that, I mean the groove that most of the fanboys seem to be dying for. And I didn't mean any disrespect by referring to people as fanboys lol).

But I don't understand, Danny is still supposed to be training in K'un Lun at age 17! As I understand it he Gains the Iron Fist power at age 19, and that's when he goes back home and starts doing hero stuff...unless it's different in the Ultimate Universe, then the writers of this show have screwed up canonity very badly.

In case you guys did not know: Jeph Loeb, Man of action, Paul Dini have all facebook pages and accounts, so it is possible to send them, polite, messages, letting them know how we feel about the show. Complaining alone will not fix this show, and i want this show fixed not cancelled, otherwise i will just stop complaining and move on.

Also i asked Brian Michel BEndis if the show will go more dark and serious and this is his answer:

Me: "any chance the ultimate spidey show will get darker and more serious? It does lack drama right now and it has way many jokes "

BEndis: "its on the disney channel "

which i guess means NO lol

They created the show they wanted for the audience they wanted. Harassing these people with even polite questions will accomplish nothing imo. Especially when you consider that they themselves may even like the show. The best solution is to stop watching and hoping. Ratings are everything. If they begin to suffer then they will have to re-evaluate the approach taken. Watching to hope that it changes just helps them, because it counts in the ratings. It won't change.

What's interesting about Peter Parker/Spider-man is that he's a misfit and a teenaged hero. It's always interesting to see him interact with adult heroes, not other teens. Seeing him interact with the likes of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Captain America, etc IS a Spider-man staple. Making these characters into teenagers is just.... well, it takes away from the appeal of that dynamic of Spider-man's character.

Plus, Iron Fist is supposed to be a Bruce Wayne like character. Not a high schooler. Cage is meant to be a street fighter and peace keeper on the streets of Harlem, not a high school student in midtown. I'm sorry, but these are things that define their characters.

MJ is COMPLETELY off the mark. She is not recognizable as he 616 or Ultimate. Harry is fine, Norman is fine, I even like May and Fury.

To be perfectly honest, it's the cut-aways that really ruin the show for me. Those awful anime-style cut-aways just ruin any momentum that the show gains in its 22 minutes. That and the fact that it's just not funny and a style that I hate adds to it. Why does an AMERICAN show have to have that awful anime style?

This show really makes me miss Spectacular Spider-man so much. It had the high school/Peter Parker elements that were just as interesting as the Spider-man portions. And I know that this show is setting things up with the "Frightful Four"/Norman Osborn/Doc Ock, but it's just not as good as the three show arcs the old show had.

The show can be funny and witty just because of the WRITING of the show. It doesn't need those awful cut-aways and gimmicks. It doesn't need team ups or Spider-cycles or Spider-SHIELD-TECH to sell more ****ing toys. The show will be enjoyable by kids if it is a GOOD show.

**NOTE** Plus, this show doesn't need to be darker to be better. Spectacular Spider-man wasn't dark...it was quite cheerful. But it was more realistic in tone. It did comedy, but not at the expense of the show itself. The show can keep a similar tone and get better.....they just need to change the writing. IE: no foodfights to distract/defeat villains, no awful cut-aways, no spider-cycle.

This show was also on Disney channel (back in the day I know, not the modern Disney, but still lol)

So I guess his answer may have been ambiguous

Bland. That's how I'd describe them..

And, I know they are attempting to make I.F. being all "Zen" and everything but frankly, his voice sounds like a doped out surfer. Doesn't sound that good at all imo.

I don't like how I.F sounds either

It's possible he gained the Iron Fist power at 17, we'll see how they do it in the origin episodes.

Danny still has Rand Corp. in the show. In his bio it's said his wealth rivals Osborn's.

i like how ppl keep arguing the show is just trying to sell toys when the only toys hasbro has revealed that are based off this show is a webshooter
