Pretty enjoyable episode. I'm getting pretty accustomed to the style they've chosen to go with, to the point where I don't often notice the strange cuts. I dug the excuse for Spidey not wearing that overpowered suit all of the time and the references to Superhero Squad. Marvel hasn't been much for multi-verses before but I wonder if The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes will ever be acknowledged as a separate reality.

Was that Iron Fist talking with Dr. Strange in the "What Would It Take" segment? Why yes, I think it was.

Couple things....Peter spent the entire episode unable to control the Iron Spiderman suit, but at the end to help Stark he was able to control it pretty fine...yet at the end still can't pilot it

The worthless team members start *****ing about the suit because spiderman is causing too much damage to the city, when it was spiderman in the 2nd episode who reminded them to be careful to protect civilians from collateral
AND, after seemingly controlling the suit very well for the final battle they still want him to take off the suit...when the problem was lack of control. If he can control the suit, he is far more useful than regular spiderman

Peter Parker gets extremely bummed about the other members wanting to throw him off the team when he doesnt even care too much to be apart of the team

Fury says yoooo you dont have a drivers license kid so you cant pilot the armor, but they have a spider motorcycle for him

chibi spiderman stinks

Nova stinks

Luke Cage stinks

towards the end of every episode of Ultimate Spider-Man, I always wonder why I go thru it week after week...

I'm watching it because I know that if I'm patient, eventually something much more interesting and exciting will happen soon enough...

and then Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes starts up...

I think this is the best episode so far, but that isn't saying a lot. "Iron Spider" almost approaches my definition of "decent".

Pros:
-I thought the alternate universes bit with Spider-Ham and the Superhero Squad was funny.

-Iron Fist. There really isn't much to him as of yet (or to any of the characters, really), but I like his "fortune cookie" quotes-especially in this episode.

-I like that Drake Bell stutters a bit when he's Peter Parker. Josh Keaton does that a lot when voicing Peter. Drake Bell has a LOT to improve upon, but I do like that there's a difference between Peter and Spidey.

Cons:
-I'm really tired of the video game stuff, like the "Fight!", the bits showing how many points each character gets in battle, and so on. It's gotten old very quickly.

-As someone said above, the inconsistencies in Spider-Man's character. He's dumb about the iron suit, he's smart about the iron suit, then he's dumb about it again. He's responsible when it comes to keeping civilians safe, then he's reckless about it. I'm not exactly sure what he is, other than a screw up.

-Episode 5, and still only one Spider-Man villain? Yeah, that's been said enough times, I think.

My other criticisms are about the show as a whole, but I can't say anything that hasn't been said already. I'm still hoping this show improves as its run continues.

An ok episode, Spidey's still too reckless and immature. By far the best part was the Spider-Ham cameo and the Super Hero Squad cameos with Spidey. Did not see that coming, something genuinely funny. :woot:

Look on the bright side - this show probably won't last more than two seasons, that seems to be standard procedure for cartoons these days.

The Superhero Squad cameo was probably the funniest part of the episode. And some of Stark & Fury's bickering.

this show is gonna last way longer than the haters anticipate. I just know it.

all i'm saying is no matter what u guys think of the show, when the episode finally airs, at least check out the wolverine episode. it was great.

What makes you say that? Even popular cartoons don't seem to have very long lifespans these days (unless they're the Simpsons in which case they'll just keep going until all the original voice cast dies and then the original voices get replaced with sound-a-likes).

I don't care if Ultimate Goblin is in this show now, cause this show is horrible. The dvd sales for it will show everyone.

The SHSS bit was kind of funny, but that hardly saves the show for me. 'Venom' was way better than this week. No sense of peril and the action wasn't as good as the Venom episode either.

The animation always looks good, however, what does that matter if the show's writing and content of the episodes are constantly sub-par.. EMH saved the day, again. I really want to like this show cause I love Spider-Man...but, it sucks. Plain and simple.

This show is showing no signs of improvement -

chibi amimie jokes ? check.

Video Game references (like - Fight, scores) ? check.

Breaking fourth wall ? check.

Freezing frames / time for giving trivia ? check.

Spidey acting goofy ? check.

Lame jokes ? check.

Worst super spy Nick Fury ? check.

Apart from Iron Fist, lame team members ? check.

How is it a show that copies the formula of some good cartoons I love (Pepper Ann, The Weekenders, and Teen Titans) be so terribly, terribly awful at excecuting it? Well, at least there's still YJ.

another horrible episode but i didn't expect otherwise from a show that only aims to help Marvel and Disney sell more toys . By the way, I agree with others saying this show will probably only last 2 seasons. P.S: even the animation is crap

Yeah, Teen Titans had its kid-like moments, but when it got down to it, they kicked some ass and had some great villians (Slade was ruthless) and weren't afraid to tackle some dark stuff in its own unique way.. I miss teen titans lol.

Reckless and stupid, that's annoying
I like how they end episodes with him planning, guiding, and correcting, but I'm bothered how reckless they consistently keep him to be and make mistakes he has to fix
Like the dimensional joke, SHS is good

Watched Spider-Man Unlimited, the whole series, and it's a better show

Are you unhappy about the direction this show is taking? Are you mad that they butchered your childhood superhero, and dare i say it "sodomized" him in front of your eyes? Well this is what you can do to take a stand:

Please leave comments on the facebook pages of the show runners and their twitter accounts. I can guarantee you we can make them fix this pile of crap by season 2 and not screwup the upcoming Avengers in house cartoon:

I guarantee you if each one of us sent these guys a message stating what we think about the show, it will be fixed. Marvel is already feeling the heat from ultimate spidey, according to some insider story, but they are hoping we will start hearting the show with more episodes rolling in.
Production on season 2 is in its early phases, and they are considering a tone change, but its not for certain yet. So please send these guys your honest opinions about ultimate spider-man, in a civil manner plz, no need for insults and bad words, and you will see the resuts and the power of the internet and social media.

Watched the newest episode yesterday. The Super Hero Squad Show jokes were funny, although they would've been funnier if I didn't already know they were coming. Shouldn't have come to this thread before seeing it. I enjoyed the Iron Man movies, so it was cool to see him in this episode. I wonder if this is a sexual reference?
